This kind of update is precisely why I'm not totally thrilled with the results of this election . . .
C 122
L 100
BQ 50
NDP 27
People here in the U.S. have to understand that this isn't just an election between two political parties. When I assess the results of the election, I will add the Liberal and NDP (and Green, if there are any) seats together -- since they all represent varying degrees of Marxism -- and compare them to the Conservatives. Based on this information here, I'd say that the "political score" in Canada is 127 for the liberals (small-"l") and 122 for the conservatives (small-"c"). I wouldn't include the Bloc Quebecois in either group (though they are Marxists as well), since they don't even consider themselves Canadians in the first place.

Yes, obviously the blackout law is a joke!! I just hope it doesn't stop conservative B.C. voters from going to the polls.

She won't mind, gives her a shot at leadership which she'll waste her time trying to win (which makes warms my ice cold heart) She's young and rich, so if she wants to waste her time doing a pissant's job (compared to what she's use to, that's fine with me)

I would compare it slighlty diferent:
Republicans (non RINOs) = Conservatives (non CINOs)
Liberals = Republican Rinos
Democrats = NDP
etc.

You take what you can get. Its still a remarkable accomplishment. I almost thought they would snatch defeat again out of the jaws of victory. Not this time. They ran a great campaign. The Canadian people didn't trust them with a majority this time but wanted to give them a chance. Now they should make the most of it.

Indeed. Congratulations Canada. I'm happy for them as well.
The only thing I'm not quite happy about is a Conservative minority government as opposed to a majority government.
