Limited government?
As in I live in a cabin in the woods, grow sorghum and trap and shoot my own meat, limited government?
Time to move into the real world, which is a bit more complicated than chinking those logs in August.

At least his Supreme Court nominees (well, after Harriet Miers) so far have been what he campaigned on. And those are important because they will more likely than not be the Supreme Court justices when our kids are adults!
I, too, wish he would slow the spending. But he never said he would, and I was under no illusions that he was going to if re-elected.

Listen hear, I specifically stated I do not hold the fed's accountable, but the perceived disarray caused much damage to the President. Had the bureaucracy been smaller the communication would have been clearer.
It appeared that no one was in charge.
We had 3 to 5 days to get ready for that disaster, I truly fear what would happen in a surprise disaster, such as a large earth quake.
IMO This government is bogged down with layers of lawyers and bureaucrats that will prevent it from actually helping anyone efficiently in the future.

So what is your goal?
One less vote in any election and if a Dem wins then oh well its not my problem?
Or,
One more vote for an Independent, which equals one more vote for a Dem and if a Dem wins then oh well its not my problem?
Where do you live - in the middle of nowhere?

Somehow I doubt you've voted Republican in ages if ever.
If you don't like something the GOP has done, work to change it. Run off the join the handful of third party wonders who never win anything and then spend all their time being sad, angry little men if that makes you feel better.

I guess standing in the rain at our place of voting handing flyer's, going door to door in favor of a Republican Congressman and other numerous activities does not count?
P.S. It's a heck of alot more than $25.00 Pal!

Both of the above options assume that one's activism must be focused on the support for parties. Another approach is to support issue related groups of your choice and PACs/Candi ates that you agree with.

To: mr_hammer
Yup, no difference between the parties.
The judges nominated by this president are no different than the judges nominated by the demonrats.

Not that the president is perfect, but anyone who didn't know what they were getting when they pulled the lever for Bush wasn't paying attention.Certainly the second time anyway. But in any case, as we listen to the "ain't never gonna vote GOP again" crowd, I always wonder just where they are going to go. Perhaps they believe that Hillary or Kerry would have nominated Roberts and Alito....

Get a proofreader. Then someone might take you seriously.I must agree. As sympathetic as I am with many of your goals, if you can't express them properly you're not giving them any reason to bother listening.
Also, I don't think that there's much of a threat in pulling your financial support, unless that support is substantial.

There is no such thing as a civilian organization prepared to jump into immediate action to handle a large scale disaster of any kind, period. Even the military needs some time to operate on a national disaster scale operation and they can launch limited operations within hours.
To expect that somehow if the gov't had been smaller and less money being wasted would allow the federal gov't to supercede local and state gov't operational plans and somehow rescue 100,000 people hours after a disaster is fairly ignorant of reality. It has nothing to do with gov't size or layers - it has to do with local, regional, and state authority coordinating with Federal agencies to augment a plan that needs greater assistance levels than can be provided at the local and state levels.
BTW, if you are expecting any gov't on the face of this planet to come to your immediate rescue in any disaster, you are in for more bad news. Local churches and church supported organizations always accomplish much of the relief efforts in these kinds of situations and are never recognized for their efforts.

Do you suppose you should support the most conservative party and/or candidate who can win elections? Otherwise you can support a fringer and help elect liberals. Your call. There's some disagreement on what kind of candidate can win elections, so I would rather just measure the candidates' conservatism and leave it at that. Your "fringer" label is what passes for debate from your side whenever we have a chance at a real conservative.
