OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Sen. Patty Murray said Friday that returning contributions from Indian tribes represented by Jack Abramoff would "taint" the tribes.
The state's senior senator, a Seattle Democrat, said there was nothing wrong with accepting more than $40,000 in campaign donations from out-of-state tribes represented by the disgraced lobbyist.
Abramoff's excesses have been halted and Congress is considering myriad ethics reforms, she said.
The donations, from 1999 to 2005, placed Murray second among Senate Democrats and ninth overall in the Senate, according to records compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics, a Washington, D.C., organization that tracks money in politics.

"...perfect in every way."
Not quite. I've noticed that some of them get killed (or they kill someone else) doing stupid things....
I believe this to be one of the most worthless statements on a ballot. "Use a #2 pencil". Really, is there any other kind that normal people use? How about just "Use a pencil". And you are right about our useless senators from Washington.

I wasn't worried about the number of the pencil, I was concerned that my vote could be erased and changed.
How about those Seahawks? Is the owner of the Seahawks, Paul Allen, the same guy who is suing the Clintons?
Now that we got mail-in only ballots in my county it doesn't make any difference whether it is in pencil or not. All they have to do is loose it.
That's choice. Great job!
"Now that we got mail-in only ballots in my county..."
Same here. And, after the governor's fiasco, I thought that "pencil only" might be another avenue for these &%^ liberals to get around a legal election.
You bring up a good question. Why pencil? You are not supposed to erase if you make a mistake so why pencil?
bttt
Open a hearing ... NOW ... investigate.
"I'm...investing it for them! Yeah, that's the ticket!"
