That's a mis-translation. The word for 'cow' can sometimes be used to mean 'animal'. LJ can probably clear that out.

I take "end-of-the-world" cries a personal threat - not unlike a Jihadist ranting in his piss-stained sheet that he will soon kill me by Allah's will, or some enviro-wacko who believes in global warming.

I still laugh about a story from my childhood ... I grew up at the foot of a mountain with a 200 ft. sheer cliff on the face, the only one in the chain not in a state park. It was discovered by hang gliders in the 70's, and the first day of hang gliding off that mountain was quite an event. As the shadow passed over pastures and farms, according to the farmers, cows were running around with their eyes rolled back and their tails stuck straight up in the air going "moooOOOOOoooh mooooOOOOOOooh," chickens were diving under bushes, it was sheer mayhem. The farmers reckoned that the cows and chickens thought that had to be the biggest hawk they'd ever seen.
