LOS ANGELES - Former teen idol Leif Garrett is hooked on heroin, his mom says - and she blames hard-partying rock 'n' roll legends like the Rolling Stones for steering her son toward drugs. "Leif idolized rock stars ... that whole life of rock 'n' roll and drugs ... the Rolling Stones. He figured if they could do it, so could he," Garrett's distraught mother, Carolyn Stellar, told the Daily News yesterday.

Mom sounds like she was a major enabler of Leif's downward spirial.
Nicollette should recieve a bronze casting couch, instead of a star, on the hollywood walk of fame to sum up her career.

Although I believe everyone is responsible for their actions, I do believe the glamorization of drug use in the media and in society, particulary in the 70's, contributed very much to drug addiction for that generation. Another bummer from the 60's generation. I know nothing about what kind of person Lief Garrett is but I hope he is able to beat his demons and lead a long, happy life.

I used to wonder if he was part Indian or Arab, but now I more than wonder, I strongly suspect. O'course, if he were a true WASP, he'd look even worse with all of that hard living!

With that rationale, Mother Sheehan could legitimately blame Bush for her son being in the military. Hey, my son idolized the military and what it stood for, protecting America and fighting the war on terror....that whole life. He figured if they could do it, so could he and he joined up with them.
Damn President Bush for the military and the "lifestyle" it pervays...

Leif used to look a lot like Mckenzie Phillips. And may still.

He's probably deaf too. That's what happens to boys who listen to too much rock and roll music.

I've been doing the same thing. ;o) Caught the name Jimmy Baio, (from Soap) and haven't thought of him in years. He'd be one I'd like to see in a "Where are they now" special.
