And the courts. I know the rules for broadcast are somewhat different (government needs to allocate the scare resource of each frequency) but I would hope that enough Bush judges would have a problem with this.

You really think the spineless Republicans in the Senate would mount a filibuster over implementing a "fairness" doctrine?

A filibuster is hard work. Especially if you're cowering in the corner...

I can't think of many things that justify a filibuster more than protecting our first amendment right to speak freely. This bill by Slaughter looks more like a political stunt to satisfy the moveon.org crowd and keep the $ flowing from them to dem congresscritters. Barring a political earthquake that gives the Dems complete control of Washington, this bill has no chance of becoming law.
