At the White House, the president met with current and former Iraqi citizens, victims of Saddam Hussein's regime.
Laura Bush continues her African visit (with her daughter, Barbara). She criticized Senator Clinton for suggesting that the Republican-controlled House is run like a plantation where dissenting voices are ignored. "It's a ridiculous comment," Mrs. Bush told reporters when asked about the remark. She headed home after reaffirming the U.S. commitment to help Nigeria treat AIDS patients and stem the spread of HIV. She said she hoped that "one day an entire generation" will be free of the disease that has ravaged Africa. Earlier, Mrs. Bush drove to the dusty outskirts of Abuja to visit a small AIDS clinic where a young woman told her of how drugs helped her escape death from the disease. Mrs. Bush visited a hospital, where there were enough anti-retroviral drugs to treat 500 people over the next year. It is the first U.S.- backed shipment of the drugs St. Mary's has received through President Bush's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
Americans Must Understand U.S. is at War: "The American people must remind themselves every day that the United States is at war, Army Lt. Gen. Ray Odierno, speaking at the American Enterprise Institute here, said today."
Welcome to Sanity Island!
I forgive you. They have help groups available for post-Matthews people.
BUT, it was all for ratings and show. He is really at the core a democrat, and I should have known his admiration of Clinton's political skills and "speaking ability" was a clue as to his true beliefs.
I console myself with the fact that my absence since 2001 has contributed to the plummeting of his ratings.
Hello and thanks for such great pix!
Heck print it out and send it to him, ask him to sign it for you LOL
You know what I like :) Thanks, Snugs.
I hope everyone will email HARDBALL and respectfully demand an apology from Chris for misquoting Mrs. Bush.

Here's the proof to give HARDBALL:

" ...Mrs. Bush, who said her next trip likely will be to New Orleans to visit schools damaged in the hurricane, also reacted to a comment by New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin that stirred controversy. Nagin had said: "This city will be chocolate at the end of the day." He later apologized.
Nagin also said the hurricane that devastated New Orleans was God's way of showing displeasure about U.S. involvement in Iraq. "Surely God is mad at America," Nagin said in a speech Monday. "Surely He's not approving of us being in Iraq under false pretense. But surely He's upset at black America also. We're not taking care of ourselves."
Asked about the comment, Mrs. Bush joked that she didn't really think she could speak for God. Then she added that she believes Nagin wants New Orleans to be rebuilt..."
Can you believe that?
A damn shame the Republican on the show (can't remember his name), didn't know enough to correct Matthews. I'm not sure Matthews didn't intentionally misquote Laura to generate some buzz and rile us up. I wouldn't put it past him.
But whether it was intentional or not, Matthews owes Mrs. Bush an on the air apology.
Change of plans,
I'm back.
Hi Kate.
Not sure if this is posted...just got home from church but I thought ya'll would enjoy this...
Q Do you miss your husband, and have you been in contact with him?
MRS. BUSH: I do miss him, and I haven't called him. The time difference has made it so that when I'm home, he would be asleep, or -- I mean, when I'm back at the hotel, or it would be in the middle of the day and I would think he'd be gone somewhere.
So I haven't talked to him and I do miss him and I'm looking forward to seeing him tonight
It's one of the questions from her talking to the press on her way home. Too cute...but sad that they haven't talked in 4 days!
Does she have freepmail? How do I go about contacting her?
Thanks-
That is funny.
It needs to be done up for Alan Colmes too.
Although Alan needs one with him operating a jackhammer, drowning out his "guests" as he keeps saying the same thing over and over, so loudly the audience can't hear the guest.
It really is the Alan Colmes Hears Himself Talk show.
Awww poor Laura. If I were her, I'd miss him too.

I would too...it'd drive me nuts if I couldn't talk to him for 4 days.
Thank you for the DOSE tonight!!!
Why does anyone listen to these fools??
Just SHUT UP, Chrissy!
