This is a "legitimate" test in-so-far as it was developed by researchers at the University of Georgia. It was designed to test the theory that homophobia is a manifestation of repressed homosexual desire. The researchers reported difficulty finding heterosexual men who were "high-grade non-homophobic."
I only got a 56. God, I must be a homo!
(56 out of what? The survey didn't say...)
If cavemen didn't have an aversion to playing "Brokeback Mountain" on hunting trips the species would have died out long ago.
Same here. This is another example of liberal abuse of the language.
From what I have gathered from latin roots, perhaps the correct term should be "homoeroticamisia". This means, AFAICT, revulsion toward homosexuality.
(Oh, and FWIW, I scored a 58.)
I generally regard homosexual acts like I do extra-marital sex. It's wrong and destructive, but not criminal. And the people who practice either are not evil because of what they do, but rather they are making bad choices.
As far as sex between consenting adults goes, I'm pretty comfortable leaving that up to their God and their conscience.
I got "High-grade homophobic". The only thing I was negative on is that I didn't think gay rights organizations were needed.
This is despite the fact that I have many gay friends and I have never treated or considered them negatively. I think it's great there are gay men since it's less competition for females.
I think that in this survey, politics may be more important than what you actually think of gay people.
D
EXACTLY.
I don't really want to know anything about peoples sex lives in public. It's really as simple as that.
38 - Your score rates you as "non-homophobic."
.......Since there is no universally accepted definition of homophobia, the scales currently in use may not measure all aspects of homophobia.
.
I always thought the prefix HOMO ment man.....like someone is afraid of Men.....I have known a lesbo or 2 that were afraid of men...and some that seemed to me that they hated men. These Lesbos were true homophobes.....
And the words Neither agree nor disagree mean what?
Gee, I wonder what it would be like to have one day pass -- maybe not even a day--maybe a portion of a day, even an hour -- without some media referenece to gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered/omnisexual/whatever stuff. I know I could go for a long, long time without ever thinking about it at all. Like, if I were stranded on a desert island or something. I'll bet the whole time I was stranded, it wouldn't cross my mind even once.
I didn't take the quiz, but I know how I'd score; but they'd probably have to come up with a new category: homo-don't-give-a-rat's-a$$.
LOL. At leat you're honest.
I was found non homophobic also. But really I don't see myself keying anybodies car much less homosexual and some of the other questions were outlandish, but I guess it was pretty accurate.

Exactly. I think most people here treat gay people as individuals the same way they would treat anybody. It's all about the political agenda.
To take the test is to legitimize the term. It's a bogus term used for political purposes; therefore, the test is nothing more than a useful prop for leftist political goals.
I know.
I have to remind myself every time I see the bumper sticker...."Hate is not a family value." That really gets under my skin.
I wonder if the word "heterophilic" is appropriate.
