CNN Headline news grabs Glenn Beck to host a commentary section.

I think it's a great move!

It is a great move if they let him be himself and I doubt he would have agreed to this if they hadn't.

Cool, i love Glenn. He can be so funny. I bet he is better on the radio than tv, it beats Maury and Connie Chung though lmao!

Good, I miss Glenn Beck in Atlanta. Disgusted they replaced him with noone for a long time, then some smoe Denny Schafer.

He's OK, I guess. I'm just sick of hearing how great it's 50 degrees in winter here in Atlanta. Let's see how much he loves our 'warm' weather when it's 101 degrees in the summer with 100% humidity.

From the story:

CNN just closed a deal with Beck to have him give color commentary on news events on Headline News. I think this is a great win and I predict Beck will have his own timeslot and show by the end of the year.

Some body isn't listening. Beck announced this yesterday on his radio show and said that he will have a Primetime one hour slot starting in April on CNN Headline News.

I'm betting they put him head to head with O'Rilley. This is the first time since Gulf War 1 that I have a reason to tune into anything on CNN.

Yeah, should be worth tuning into. I wonder why CNN is doing it. Ratings obviously, but it must cut them to the core to offer this in the interests of ratings.

That'd be kind of like Hillary Clinton wanting Sean Hannity as her running mate.

I listend to Beck all of twice. He was lamenting the "torture" of the inmates at Abu Ghraib and saying how terrible it was. I have never listened again.

Are you he wasn't being sarcastic? He is famous for that. One time he had folks believing that he thought John Kennedy was alive,,,anyone remember that? LMAO,,, I remember all the calls he got about that.

Beck is an acquired taste. After a while you realize how well he really gets it. I wouldn't be surprised if you got spoofed - he's willing to take things out there a long ways to make a point, but he almost always comes down solidly on the right side. And he is incredible in honoring and supporting our troops.

Glenn Beck is one of the funniest talk show hosts out there. He's also one of the most compassionate and perceptive. And his sarcasm is the best and most cutting.

As an Ohioan I loved it when he pounded Mayor Coleman in Columbus for weeks over the sexual assault of the handicapped girl at Mifflin HS.

Glenn, great news ya' sick freak!

Judging from Freeper reaction I'm not sure if I just don't "get" Beck. I said in a previous post that the guy comes off as kind of a twit.

I listen to a local conservative, Jan Mickelson, out of Des Moines most mornings.

Ratings obviously, but it must cut them to the core to offer this in the interests of ratings.

The only constant in life is that things will change. CNN, in spite of the wishes of the people working for it, is in business to make money. To do it they need viewers. To get viewers they have to put on what people will watch. Just because Fox News is first now, doesn't mean squat for who will be there 5 years from now.

Glenn is somewhat unique in that his show is not primarily about politics. I didn't like his show at first. It took a few weeks to get the drift and find out he is killer funny at times.

I wonder if he will have the time to find his audience. If it takes 4 or 6 weeks on radio, it's gonna need much longer on TV.
