Born in the projects of Cincinnati to a meat-packer who preached the work ethic and a nurse who read to him from the Bible every evening, Blackwell has rejected the victimology of many black activists and opted for a different path, championing school choice, opposing abortion, and staunchly advocating low taxes as a road to prosperity. The 57-year-old is equally comfortable preaching that platform to the black urban voters of Cincinnati as to the white German Americans in Ohios rural counties or to the states business community.

Just noticed your tag.
Guess what I'm going to use to poke my Liberal friends in the eye? Hope you don't mind!
Thanks.

Same, and so does my family.
I may not live there now but I will always be a Buckeye.
I'll never forget visiting home just prior to the 04 elections and I heard a Blackwell ad about voters taking personal responsibility to find the right place to cast a ballot.
The guy instantly caught my attention and I believe he is the real deal.

When you have strong beliefs, are ethical, and have moral character, you need not be uncomfortable with anyone. Reagan was like that.

And I have a feeling that when Sharpton, Jackson and the other "trustees" on the Dem plantation try to "Uncle Tom" him they'll get their heads handed to them.
To: stephenjohnbanker
Oh, no you don't. Louisiana gets him. *swipe*

The Dems' worst nightmare is indeed the election of Mr Blackwell in OH, Lynn Swann as gov of PA, and Michael Steele as US Senator from MD. I'm not sure Lynn is presidential material yet but Blackwell and Steele surely will be in 2012.

I just hope that he doesn't run on the platform that he is going to "save" anything.
If he says that (he won't I don't think), but if he does, the MSM in Ohio will skewer the GOP......
I wish Taft would resign.

Yes, me too!
You and I are reversed: I'm Texas-born, living in Ohio the past 30 years, almost.
Go Blackwell!

I am not just an economic being, Blackwell unapologetically replies. I have a wider set of beliefs that I follow. And then, before the woman moves away, Blackwell adds: With me, youll always know what you are getting. Youll always know where I stand....WOW! GO! KEN! GO!

Or perhaps 2016, if we elect a two-termer.

WHERE DO I SIGN UP?
To: oxcart
What would really shake thigns up is Blackwell as governor of Ohio and Steele as senator from Maryland. This would frighten the Hijacksons, the Farrakhans, and the Sharptongues to death.
