Rev. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, says it's "an absolute revolt against God's design" if husbands and wives purposely avoid bearing children.
On his Web site and other articles and interviews, Mohler argues that "marriage, sex and children are part of one package" and that "to deny any part of this wholeness is to reject God's intention in creation and his mandate revealed in the Bible."
In a CNN interview, the Baptist leader added, We grow up by having children. Without that responsibility, we have a generation of perpetual adolescents just growing old."

I've seen too many people have kids for the sake of having kids (or to get welfare checks) and then treat their children like garbage or crap and abuse them You and me both. The things I could tell you...Let's just say, working at a big city hospital, you see things you'd never believe. :-(

"I told her that she could look at her teaching as a form of nurturing children and young people. I hope you would agree."
Well, it is not how I would counsel my daughters, nor is it how I would teach on the subject of biblical Christian home. I assume that your daughter is married. What does her husband say?

I never cease to be amazed how FReepers (FREEPERS!!! of all people!) uncritically accept as true any news report about someone (or something) they don't like.Pot, kettle, black. You're guilty of this all the time regarding Catholicism.

With your attitude it's probably a good
thing you don't have children.

Older couples without kids have always seemed bitter to me.Depends on why they don't have kids.
When I was young, my next door neighbor and his wife had no kids, and were really kind and nice to all the kids in the neighborhood.
Some folks can't have kids, and wind up being really sweet and nice, while others can't, and become very bitter and jealous.
Depends on the person.

Frankly, I am glad she didnt avoid having me or abort me.
She put her trust in God. Has been sober since 99.. And believe me, life has not been easy.
There is never a perfect time for anything."
It's good to be alive isn't it, even in this forum some people are arguing quality of life issues.

I believe that that is included in the "Without natural affection" spoken of in 2 Timothy 3:3, which is indicative of the end-time ("last days") apostasy.
******
Yes!
2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
*****
Lovers of day spas, facials, manicures, high heels, dinners out every night, business lunches every day, lovers of their first spouse, second spouse, third spouse, the neighbor next door, down the street, the co-worker etc.
Nope, no room for dirty diapers and spit up in that life.

That's odd, we have two sons, which of course is none of yours or the reverends business. We decided to have children because we wanted to, not because some busybody self-important minister took it upon himself to speak for God.

As a former teacher, I must say that it doesn't require 12 hr days. If she were an associate in a law firm, yeah. But teacher? No.

Older couples without kids have always seemed bitter to me.Really? I fondly remember a childless couple that were neighbors of my grandparents. My grandparents lived in a group of 5 houses out in the country, and all 5 of the houses were owned by retired couples. A lot of the grandkids would come to visit at the sime time, due to holidays, vacation, etc., so we grew to know not only their neighbors but also all of the other grandkids. Many of us kids spent hours, day after day, visiting the childless couple, just sitting on their porch talking to them. We always thought they were fun, even though all we ever did was sit and talk.
