Spamming Amazon
National Review Online ^ | 1/17/06 | Mark R. Levin

Posted on 01/17/2006 10:44:59 AM PST by wcdukenfield

Over at Amazon.com, my dear friend Kate O'Beirne has become an obvious target of an organized campaign by so-called feminists to degrade the rating of her book — Women Who Make the World Worse : and How Their Radical Feminist Assault Is Ruining Our Schools, Families, Military, and Sports — by posting absurd personal attacks as reviews. Clearly most of those posting reviews haven't read Kate's book. You can tell by what they're posting. Read them yourself. And she has already received nearly 300 reviews, a remarkably high number in such a short period of time. Hence, the clear indication of an organized campaign to trash the book. I wish Amazon had a better way to rate a book than this. 01/15 03:48 PM

I always look for liberal trash talk as a sure sign that a book is meaningful, useful and something to buy.

Amazon should only allow those who have purchased the products from them to post reviews.

As a rule Amazon reviews are very helpful. You can usually tell how bright the reviewer is and where he is coming from. You can usually tell if someone is just plain stupid, or has a political agenda.

The very fact that a ton of people are attacking the book recommends it. Also, if you scroll down the list of reviews, you will probably find a few genuine ones.

I can't imagine that this sort of thing fools many Amazon users.

I, too, have been the target of some of this type of spam with my "Patriot's History of the United States." The first reviews came in and you could tell they were fair, about an equal number on both sides of the issue. It was also clear that several leftists had not read the book, and didn't have a clue what was in it, because they gave no examples. It was just "I hate this book because it's conservative."

During one little burst of these, I had to actually request some friends to review the book to break the momentum, which they did. You can tell that the longer, thoughtful reviews are almost always favorable.

I'll post a review there when I've read her book.

If I recall correct though, if your Hillary Clinton then Amazon will either suspend reviews for the book or remove all negatives.

Yet more proof that leftists simply do not want dialog, they do not want a give and take of ideas, they want sheer dominance of their misguided ideology. These are the same people who profess hatred for anything even remotely approaching censorship. These are the same people who profess tolerance, and open-mindedness. As we know, and is this demonstrates, yet again, it is all a not so grand sham. Leftists are nothing more than ruthless, intolerant people who would love nothing more than to squelch all freedoms and oppress others. They are Stalins and Lenins in waiting.

Feminists are without question, the most vile and mean/nasty people on the planet! I wish we "normal" women of character could get a new movement going. One that lauds Mothers, gentle loving human beings, nurturer. In other words our important role in the overall existence of the human race! As God intended. Maybe call ourselves "Femininist!" We could finally get fashion that isn't ugly, and made/cut for men! And some recognition of our mothers and all they are to us!

Doubt it will happen however, since most of us are very busy, and happy, doing all we were meant to do, and loving it!

You don't need to read any further than this comment:

19 of 108 people found the following review helpful: A Conspiracy To Denounce This Book?, January 16, 2006

Reviewer: Amy E. Sampson "R. Matt Sampson" - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
It would appear their are some reviewers among us who are trying to sabotage the rating of this by posting messages such as the following from http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/1/13/234138/111

"Go on over there. Get yourself an Amazon account if you don't have one and write yourself a review of Ms. O'Beirne's book. You can sign your review with an Amazon "pen name" if you don't want to be spammed with conservative hate-dreck. The goal is to ensure that Ms. O'Beirne's book has a one star rating so no one will go out and buy it who would not have already done so..."

Well, sure. You buy half a million copies in advance, assuming it will be a best seller. By doing so, you automatically make it a best seller. Then you start seeing all these negative reviews on your own web site. You have no choice. You delete the negative reviews and try as hard as possible to get rid of the Hillary books ASAP.

Not sure if this is what happened, but it would make sense.

This week's review in the NYTs was vicious. But I guess that's no surprise.

There is an organization called "Concerned Women of America" which counters the NOW gals. You can read about them here:

Could you please privately mail me with the name of your school? We like to keep a list of all adoptees.

Also, if you don't know about our web site, www.patriotshistoryusa.com, we have lesson plans, sample test questions, maps, and material that was cut out of the book for space reasons all available free.

There is even an audio introduction by Bruce Gannon there.

How about this review:
Reviewer: Burpo The Mad Clown (Shreveport, Louisiana) - See all my reviews
"If you don't like women, you might as well read this book to purge your wrath rather than beat or murder one. It's terrible how vicious O'Beirne is to women (and men) who are trying to make the world a more humane place and reduce the emphasis on biology as destiny." Or so says someone who has not read a word of the book.

Bla bla bla, Miklowitz. You have not read the book and get your silly jollies spewing your vapid ignrance here. Typical.

Go ahead and hit "Not Helpful" you loser Gore-worshipping, NOW salivating morons.

Bump! Actually, this is great! It's helping the book get attention here on FR and around the web that it wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Thank you, DailyKossacks, for giving Ms. O'Beirne's book some much needed attention! Keep up the good work!

When I finally write my book, I'm going to go on DailyKos posing as an "outraged" moonbat and encourage the rest of the herd to attack it. Excellent publicity!
