Al Sharpton: Hillary Clinton Right about GOP 'Plantation'

Radical firebrand Rev. Al Sharpton is defending Sen. Hillary Clinton after she blasted GOP leaders on Capitol Hill for playing what she called "plantation" politics, with Sharpton saying he's happy to see that the former first lady is adopting his views.

"I absolutely defend her saying it because I said it all through the '04 elections," Sharpton told the New York Daily News on Tuesday.

The undisputed king of New York City racial politics praised Clinton for calling it like she sees it.

"Any time you have a situation where, because of seniority and cloakroom politics, the bosses make the decisions - that's tatamount to [a] plantation," he insisted.

Mrs. Clinton invoked the racially incendiary analogy to blast the GOP at a Martin Luther King Day celebration on Monday, which Sharpton also attended.

"When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation," she told an audience at Harlem's Canaan Baptist Church.

"And you know what I'm talking about," Clinton added. "It has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard."

The episode isn't the first time the former first lady had attempted to paint Republicans as racist. After then-Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott resigned from his leadership post in 2002, Mrs. Clinton told reporters:

"If anyone thinks that one person stepping down from a leadership position cleanses the Republican Party of their constant exploitation of race, then I think you're naive."

A very wise man once pointed out that accusations from the left are merely confessions.

OMG!

So I guess a lot of workers in America are slaves according to Sharpton's criteria because they don't agree with their boss's decisions.

Hmmm. I never knew the corporation I worked for was run like a Plantation. The things I learn on Free Republic. LOL

Seriously, the "plantation" analogy just doesn't work.

Plantations are not generally associated with "secretive decisions" anymore than they are associated with "fine French cooking" or "trumpet solo."

The Clintons brought Al Sharpton on to their plantation so they could use him to get votes in New York.

"A very wise man once pointed out that accusations from the left are merely confessions."

Exactly. They always pull this stunt. Hillary is no fool.

I'm happier than Sharpton is that The Hildebeast is adopting his ideas. I wish her as much luck as he had in his run for the presidency. It is hard to realize how truly ignorant he is.

Al Sharpton is very possibly the single most fatuous character in American public life; he all but wears a red rubber nose and bright orange hairpiece wherever he goes. In any case, he's the perfect reverse barometer - if he says Hillary's right, it can be taken as a matter of certainty that she's not only wrong, she's wildly wrong.

/followup

The Dems know that their "black plantation" is their greatest electoral weakness. If a mere 10% peel off, they're done as a national party. This is an attempt to play the "both sides do it" card.

Mark my words

In a day or two, if that bonehead comment starts to hurt her, Hitlery will send out a couple of her sycophants to say her words were "taken out of context."

And the news will roll over like a two dollar hooker for her on it.

"Any time you have a situation where, because of seniority and cloakroom politics, the bosses make the decisions - that's tatamount to [a] plantation," he insisted.

Am I missing something - don't bosses make most decisions in MOST areas - political and otherwise? Doesn't seniority come in to play in MOST areas - political and otherwise?

There is a plantation system in America today.

It is run by the Dems and the NAACP and its slaves are the myriad people of color who have bought into the whole welfare scheme of things. Take your free pittance from the Government and now go vote for your masters...the dims.....

They have turned generations of former productive citizens into beggars and ne'er do wells....
