PESHAWAR, Pakistan - At least four foreign terrorists died in the U.S. airstrike on a Pakistani border village that was purportedly aimed at al-Qaida's No. 2 leader, the provincial government said Tuesday.
A statement by the administration of the Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan also said that between 10 and 12 foreign extremists had been invited to dinner at the village hit in Friday's attack.

Lesson for terrorists, never accept an invitation to dinner catered by the CIA.
Gee, I didn't think asking a simple question would get you, the ultimate counter-terrorism expert behind the pixelated screen, so riled up.
I'm paid to ask questions...got a problem with that? Everyone else here does it, am I not entitled?
I think the special ops folks are working their asses off...I know some here in my area. I am behind them all the way but it won't stop me from asking questions.
It is a common sense question. Some of the answers are: Women and children are sent on the re-supply runs. It looks REAL bad when food and medicine is denied to women and children. And it looks worse when they are targeted.
"Friendlies" are involved in re-supply. They provide intel on planning, leading to solid intervention. There are a couple more scenarios as well.
Pakistanis Concede Terrorists Among Damadola Dead

Excerpt

The provincial government said Tuesday that in addition to 18 civilians, four or five foreign militants were killed by the American airstrikes on the village of Damadola on Friday, but that their bodies were removed from the scene by companions. In all, 10 to 12 militants had been invited to a dinner in the village that night, it said.

The bodies of the "foreigners", as the Pakistanis call AQ terrorists, got pulled out and transported away quickly by others of their party to escape identification, the Pakistani government now says. That indicates two very clear results from this raid:
1. Its success; the intel proved correct even if Zawahiri failed to show for the dinner.
2. The high level of the people who were killed.
The only reason to take five bodies out of the wreckage before getting out is that the identities of those five bodies would make a difference to the efforts of al-Qaeda. Otherwise, why bother with the high risk of remaining in a targeted zone to retrieve dead bodies and transport them out of Damadola while leaving other bodies behind?
************************************************
The only reason for taking that kind of chance would be to keep the West from knowing exactly who died, and that would only make sense if they knew that the West knew the identity and rank of the dead.
Does that mean that Zawahiri could have been one of the five? It's still possible; it's been a few days, and we still haven't heard from Zawahiri. We probably took out a good chunk of Zawahiri's staff at the least, making it much more difficult for the terror network's #2 to communicate through normal AQ channels. The damage done to AQ at Damadola could be enormous.
Yeah, but lump it in with the rest of the speculation. I'll give another reason to retrieve your dead, even at the risk of your own life. Esprit de corps. Never leave a fellow servicemember behind - even a dead one.
Check this out from last saturday.

I saw that photo and it was obviously a fake at worst and a set up at best.
Oh and Yippee on the terrorist kills! Unleash those drones.
The five bodies that were taken away were defacto proof that the terrorists didn't want them identified....
That's gotta hurt the recruiting program..... At any time a missile from out of the blue if your hanging with the wrong crowd..... LOL
'At one time Hitler was an ignorant trigger puller.'
And won the Iron Cross in WWI.........
Oh yeah....but he was a corporal, right?
Also, having just learned that the four tango's obliterated in the strike were high value players it changes my tune. Obviously the money was well spent as one of them had a bounty of over 5 million on his head. Wonder how many missiles that would buy?
Evidently about 50,000 per hellfire, or pays for 100 of them!

Thank you ARMSF for a decent answer :). I realize whatever's going on over there isn't pretty, just wondered why we didn't surround and entrap them awhile back. It was just a thought.
