We've sold our house and little farm and got the price we asked, the only problem is the closing is on the 24th of this month, and we haven't found another place yet.
The wife signed a contract to buy our place on New Year's Eve, but the husband dilly-dallied for another week and we weren't sure the sale would go through...he finally signed and fedexed the papers last Tuesday. We've been frantically packing and househunting (about 75 miles away from here) ever since, plus I've been working part time.
We have a bid on a house that we really want, in a town near our daughter and son-in-law, but we don't know if it will be accepted...the bid is fair, but the sellers may not like it...we have another house we are interested in, but the people can't close in time for us to move in...
We've been in this place for 20 years, it's hard packing to leave, and we'll have to board our dogs with our vet until we have a home...and our daughter is about to deliver, any day now, their 3rd baby, a little boy named Jacob; she had a high blood pressure episode a week ago, and went on maternity leave and bedrest...
Plus I have RA and for some reason, most likely stress, I'm having a flareup and cannot sleep.
Our son and his wife came down this past weekend to help us pack, and will come again next weekend...
I'm physically and emotionally stressed to the max, and I need to have a good cry so I can get that over with and get on with my life--but don't want to wake Hub, he's exhausted and he's my dearest. He wanted to stay up until I could go to sleep, but I told him I was fine...
I need prayers. I'm FReeping, and then walking around the house looking at memories, then FReeping. Silly, right? Click on my screen name to see me and the pups...and please send a prayer my way. As you can see, I'm NOT a spring chicken. ;-D
Tomorrow we're headed out of town to look at more houses, unless the bid is accepted on the one we want...
Smiling and praying for you Judith Anne.
I moved in 2000 and it was a major bummer.
Your prayer request brought back all those feelings.
It will take an act of God before I'll move again.
Dear God,
Thank You for Judith Anne and her husband.
Thank You for all the special memories Judith Anne
and her husband have for their old house.
Please protect them, care for them and guide them
as they pack up and move on to a new house and
a new segment of their lives.
Thank You Lord.
In Jesus' name.
Amen.
prays up bump
That did it! I'm officially giggling and all teared up at the same time.
Thanks, FRiend. ;-D
We'll have to put everything in storage; I was talking to my boss about my dilemma, and he said, "So, now I have employed a homeless person?" and offered to 'borrow' a grocery cart so we could carry our belongings around in...of course we could always sleep in the car...
Seriously, I guess we'll be living in a danged old motel until we get a place...I absolutely dread that.
Please post your replies to Judith Anne
Judith Anne, My prayers going up for you and your family. God's peace for all of you. May he provide the home you need at the time you need it.
Blessings,
trussell
If you want on/off my prayer ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.
Daughter and son-in-law offered to let us stay at their place, but with the baby coming and her blood pressure, I'm thinking us old folks should take care of ourselves and not stress out the kids, too...
Praying that you'll quickly find not only a house, but also a home.
Oh, trussell! Thanks so much--I was really hoping you'd spot this...I'm really lost tonight...I KNOW tomorrow will be better, just that tonight I'm falling apart, temporarily. ;-D
Dear Judith Anne,
You and your hubby, your daughter, her baby, your dogs are all in my prayers tonight.
I'm smiling too, just like Cindy said, remembering how stressful a move is. Of course you're FReeping because that's where your pals are, and this probably brings its own peace.
I'm praying for God to give you a good night's sound sleep that you can let go of your anxieties and concerns if only for about 8 hours.
God Bless you Judith Anne.
Thanks, kenth...you put your finger on it, exactly...
You're so welcome.
I sincerely feel your pain on this one.
So, it's in the hands of The Lord now.
Good night.
Sleep well.
Tomorrow is another day and I cannot
wait to hear about your new house.
Well, you've got my prayers! Now, let me send you a hug. {{{{{Judith Anne}}}}}
I'm headed to bed, but I will say a prayer for you before I do.
Sit down, lay your head back...close your eyes and let God calm you. Let us know how you are doing.
More hugs
Tracy
Hugs Judith Ann.
The house situation will straighten itself out but don't let the time factor force you into a hasty decision.
Love your fur babies.
Prayer for your peace of mind offered.
Yes, indeed...*giggle/sob* my crepe myrtles...my dahlias, my mated pair of holly trees, my grape arbor, my wisteria, my cherry trees, my roses...not to mention transporting our lemon tree and lime tree...and all the other plants...
Check to see if mariott has a "residence Inn" in your area.
They are like efficiency apartments. They have weekly or monthly rentals that are far cheaper than by the day for Motel rates.
I can't quite sleep yet, but I AM having that good cry I need so much, plus smiling and so glad for all the kind posts and prayers...
Prayers from another nurse! Get some rest, and leave this in the Lord's hands! He knows your needs and has the right place for you! You might just ask the buyers for an extra week. Afterall, you are entitled to a fair amount of time to resettle, as well. If the deal just came through, you should still have 30 days, right?
That's a GOOD idea!
Well, we signed the deal on the 31st of December, as I explained. They are a couple our age moving to the Ozarks from Key West with their dogs and Harleys, and they're in a spot too...nobody's fault...they don't have any wiggle room on their closing down there, either.
We have help, family and friends, and they're moving into a community where they are strangers...I just feel for them and want to help everything go well.
And for us, stringing it out won't make it much easier...a little, but not much.
*sigh*
When we moved in, I thought this would be our last home, the place we would someday die in...
