"We ask black people ... It's time for us to come together. It's time for us to rebuild New Orleans the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans," Nagin said Monday. "This city will be a majority African American city. It's the way God wants it to be. You can't have New Orleans no other way. It wouldn't be New Orleans."

Bush got in trouble with the liberals for going to Bob Jones University. Now he should get in trouble if he is ever seated at another event with the chocolate Mayor.

Funny since Nagin is a mulatto. His base, however is black. . .I mean. . .chocolate. . .

Thank you. I had never heard of a jazz funeral, either. Sounds interesting. Also, it would seem that planning your travel to New Orleans in combination with these types of festivals would really draw you into the city's culture.
May NO rebuild, in due course. Let's not get the cart before the horse, as Nagin and Blanco are doing.

So I guess he really meant he wants "milk chocolate and dark chocolate" only? LOL...no need to have any white chocolate! LMAO! There are many shades of chocolate and New Orleans knows all about that, really. It is still mostly a dirty little secret that at some black private clubs, one must pass the "manila envelope" test.

What is a "second-line"? People line up, dance, and twirl umbrellas.

...You know how I can always tell a minority has committed a crime on the news? The announcer will never report their description. With a white person they ALWAYS will. ...If a Democrat politician is in trouble they won't mention he's a Dem. But if a Republican is, you betcha.

""manila envelope" test"
Harder than the above-mentioned "paper bag" test, presumably.
Nagin is the worst kind of bigot, really.
Pretends to be "black," when he is all about keeping poor people down and himself in power.

Exactly. I saw the comments on CNN. I was shocked (but not really surprised) when the CNN Newsbabes chuckled about the racist statements. "That Mayor Nagin sure has a way with words - lol"
Huh? If this had been a white politician or worse, a republican, the outrage from the MSM would have been deafening.
There's no double standard here. /sarcasm.

I am a nobody, of course, but lesser nobodies in the loser party have demanded Bush, et. al.'s resignation over much lesser things.
So..... I DEMAND MAYOR RAY NAGIN RESIGN OVER THESE COMMENTS!!!!!
