They are now saying that a temporary bridge for the exit ramp is in real danger of collapsing at any minute.

I agree with your assessment. I think we will see coordinated attacks with small arms one day soon. The heavy stuff has been contained for the most part. However, take ten people with a sniper rifle, lots of ammo, and a crowded street, stadium, freeway, etc, and you could easily take out several thousand people. Like shooting fish in a barrel. It's has worked in Iraq hasn't it?

a human head? That's what my passenger thought.
Actually, it was a large diesel engine cylinder head. I was in the middle lane with cars on both sides of me so I had no choice but to straddle it. As I went over the head it hit my oil filter and the gas tank of my car. The guy with me asked "What the hell was that?" and I said a head. He too wondered if it was a human head.
The oil light came on right away and I coasted down an exit ramp into a service station. They put a new oil filter on and repaired the hole in the fuel tank with liquid steel. I expected to be ripped off but the total bill was around 20 dollars!
Being it was the BQE it could have easily been a human head, I suppose.

Yea, and we can't stop it. You can in Hollyweird but not in the real world. No way to see it comming and about ten million miles of road it would work on.
I actually had a script going about blowing the leveys in N.O. during a hurricane. Really. Didn't know that we didn't need any bombs. They had to rewrite the end of a currently filming Bruse Willis movie that had a levy break as part of the story. Really is Hollyweird.

I hope and pray everyone is okay.

It would be pretty horrible, yes. There are times when I'm glad I take the LIRR (nearly choked on those words).

We had one of those tanker fires happen here in Mobile. They had to replace all the concrete that was heated. This road will be down for a while.

I hate to say it but I'm writing the screenplay.Just don't sell it to Showtime, or they'll spend all their time showing your terrorists getting laid (inside joke for anyone who's had the misfortune of watching "Sleeper Cell").

I'd make the drive from south Georgia to Hattiesburg about 3 or 4 times a year when I was in school at Southern Miss, and I always hated going thru that tunnel....

"I always hated going thru that tunnel...." Yup, especially these days. That may be why the traffic is always speeding through there, lol.

Hrm... we had the exact same thing happen in San Diego a couple weeks ago... about 1500 feet from Qualcomm Stadium. But it was on a weekday. Turns out, when I look this up on my local NBC site, I get a *bunch* of hits:
The Bronx 2005
San Diego 2005 - with pretty pictures! Ok.. scary pics
North LA 2005
Another one in LA 2005
Baltimore 2004
The scary thing is that these all resulted in explosions, also resulting in deaths. Hrm. You have to kinda wonder... I remember when these DIDN'T explode when in a wreck. Or maybe there's just more careless drivers these days... and NOT the truck drivers.
