Chileans are heading to the polls to vote in a second round of elections that will give them a new president. The candidate leading the opinion polls is Michelle Bachelet, of the governing centre-left coalition. If she wins, she will be Chile's first female president.
Her rival is conservative billionaire businessman Sebastian Pinera, who says it is time for a change of government.
The election is the fourth since the country returned to democracy in 1990 after 17 years of military rule.
I also found a map of Latin America, sadly showing how socialism is taking over the continent, right in our own backyard. You can click on the picture to take you to the article with more info. (I don't know why they don't show Cuba.)
What are the gray areas?
I looked again and it seems they only colored the countries that had elections last year or having them this year. The map is from an earlier dated article, I just thought it was very telling.

Looks like it is time for Augusto Pinochet and his supporters to go back to work in Chile and restore dignity.
Every state in Central America, except for Belize is Latin.
He's kind of an enigma to me--kind of like a conservative liberal or a liberal conservative.
Well, back to the days of the "Banana Republic" for S.A.
At least they probably won't screw up things as bad as Africa's govt's.
Def. Optimist: A person who goes to church but does not vote or otherwise follow politics.
Def. Pessimist: A person who follows politics. Church, religious faith, etc serves only to prevent complete despair.
Funny how in the days since Ancient China, etc, people have not evolved socially.
