For every 100 babies born in New York City, women had 74 abortions in 2004, according to newly released figures that reaffirm the city as the abortion capital of the country. And abortions for out-of-town women performed in the city increased from 57 to 70 out of every 1,000 between 1996 and 2004, a subtle yet noticeable trend that experts say may reflect growing hurdles against the procedure in more conservative parts of the country.
The new Vital Statistics report released by the city Department of Health this month shows there were 124,100 live births, 11,700 spontaneous abortions and 91,700 induced abortions in the city in 2004. That means 40 out of 100 pregnancies in the city ended in a planned abortion - almost double the national average of 24 of 100 pregnancies in 2002, estimated by the Alan Guttmacher Institute, a Manhattan-based nonprofit group that researches reproductive health issues.

'Planned parenthood' education seems to be precisely that albeit truly a 'misnomer'. . .and they appear to be winning the amoral educational battleground.
Even casting 'morality' aside here. . .the wisdom of an ounce of prevention vs a 'pound of cure'. . .surely holds. . .
You really do have to be careful playing with their numbers, or listening to people who use Guttmacher numbers.
I think alcoholism and abortion are still sky high in Russia. The collapse of communist rule in the former Soviet Union didn't wipe out those scourges.
Good one. . .
I already tried to point that out and was told that the language was a liberal plot. :)
And the democrat moan about losing representatives in the HOuse.....
What would 40,000,000 (aborted) taxpayers do to help postpone/solve the Social Security crisis?
What would 40,000,000 (aborted) taxpayers do to help prevent the "day labor" crisis in illegal immigration?
Yup, 10 minutes faster than I got to it.
Good for you:)
Good for him - to have two children with someone he had no intention of marrying. Times are certainly changing. :(
Interesting point!
Of course, your point is what PP DOES NOT want to be revealed.
(How many million (billion?) dollars does this bring the pro-abort's in NYC every year? Doesn't PP get a substantial part of its income from tax money, and the rest from abortion?)
These are being replaced by illegal immigration: which is WHY the demo's DEMAND more illegal voting, and DEMAND the power to let illegals vote!
Look at the blue COUNTY map: ALL of their power is in illegal immigrant areas, and inner cities.
PP runs many of the abortion "clinics", this is BIG business for them.
He made a positive statement about life.It is polite to ping a person you are talking about.
That means that it was 1.66% and now it is 2%, an increase of about a third of a percent. Hardly a meaningful increase from an analytical point of view, perhaps not even statistically significant.
That is the kind of statistic that people report who have nothing else to rely on, much like "cutting the rate of growth in revenues."
It is doubtful many women travel all the way from a red state to NYC for an abortion. More likely is women from surrounding suburbs and exurbs, and from neighboring states like Connecticut, who seek anonymity in the big city.
Gotta watch those lying anonymous media "experts."
Sex and the City
At least the unborn have not have had to endure the cattle cars, gas chambers, and being torn away from their families..../bitter sarc
