Mark Steyn: Ham-handed Dems didn't lay a glove on Alito

I find it, as grave somber Senate Democrats like to say, "troubling." Indeed, I find it not just "troubling" but sad that a party once so good at "the politics of personal destruction" has got so bad at it. The last time they had a Supreme Court nominee to hang upside down in the Democrat bondage dungeon was the John Roberts hearings. And at least, when hatchet man Chuck Schumer professed himself "troubled" by the "fullness" of John Roberts' "heart," the crack oppo-research guys had uncovered an "inappropriate" use of the word "amigo" by Roberts back in the early '80s.
But, with Sam Alito the worst they come could up with was that he might have been around some other guy who might have used the word "amigo." Not back in the early '80s, but in the early '70s.

DU makes Daily Kos look like MENSA. They are so isolated they actually do think that there is some groundswell dislike of Alito.
To: SkyPilot
Don't count their smearing over yet. They have already reneged on their word to get this right to a vote. They will now draw this out as long as possible to come up with something/anything that might put Alito into a bad light for the American public.

" That really is a typical post for DU."
Really...Can a Dummie post anything without the F word?
They are all just childish brats that never grew up.

Yes, it was necessary. Those of us who do not visit places like DU need to be aware of what's floating in the cesspool in those places. People who think, act, and talk like them do exist.

You do not have to jump in the cess pool to know that it is full of sh--!
We already know what is over at DU, and that is why I choose this site, so that I do not have to see their filth.

I NEVER stomped my foot, nor said that I was outraged. I simply do not think that the comments from DU were necessary.
And, BTW I am not squeamish at all.

A) It was bleeped.
B) Unlike you, apparently, I continue to be surprised that there are people like the DUer who can be so vicious towards the wife of a gentleman who is being savaged by other "gentlemen."

The boy who cried "Wolf!" at least took the precaution of doing so when there was no alleged predator in view. If he'd stood there crying "Wolf!" while pointing at a hamster, he'd have been led away for counseling. That's the stage the Senate Democrats are at. Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark!

You think the Donks would realize that they are in a hole, and stop digging.

The reason that particular DU posting is important is that it demonstrates succinctly the point the 'Rats have reached. They have so backed themselves into a corner, that the only thing they can do is lash out at Mrs. Alito in the most vulgar way possible.
The 'Rats realize they have gone too far, and that they look like idiots and bullies. But they have no way out from here. Their frustration is showing. That is why we savor so sweetly the signs of their desperation, like that particular posting from DU.

When Ted Kennedy & Co. were demanding that the ancient records of the Concerned Alumni of Princeton be subpoenaed, I received a fluttering of e-mails comparing the Dems to Sen. McCarthy.According to Specter, he acceeded to Kennedy's request that very (Wednesday) evening, and the only people who showed up to examine the documents were Specter's own staff. Kennedy's staff didn't show the slightest interest in actually looking at the requested documents.
Just another example of Kennedy's cynical deception of the entire Committee in order to showcase his false but energetic temper tantrum.

Maybe I have just been exposed to their crap a lot longer that you have. The Dems are lower than whale poop!, and nothing that they do or say surprises me, nor should anyone else.

I think sky pilot's post was a reinforcement of Steyn's statement "that a party once so good at "the politics of personal destruction" has got so bad at it."
