Your Mental Attitude - Days of Chivalry

When the days of chivalry are mentioned, we usually think of a gallant knight rescuing a fair lady or treating her with unusual courtesy. Gallant the knights were-and certainly courteous…But the fundamental basis of chivalry was friendship. The Knights of the Round Table were a sworn brotherhood of men whose strongest ties were based on friendship. Perhaps the most celebrated knight of chivalry, the Chevalier de Bayard,
was famous above all else for his friendships.

Friendship is loyalty-to our family, to our job, to our community. It is not veering and tacking like a rudderless ship or playing both sides of the street
or using people just for our own advantage.

It is made up of little things-a thoughtful word at the right moment… a little kindness beyond the call of duty . . . a sense of understanding of the other fellow’s problem…a genuine liking for people . . . a sense of responsibility toward our associates.

It has often been said that we must BE a friend to HAVE a friend. And, like all the worthwhile things in life, friendship takes work and effort. We cannot take our friendships for granted. They are like the food we need at regular intervals-they must be given constant and diligent nourishment . . . We can no more get along in the world
without a friend than we could without food or the air we breathe.

One of the important things we learn is that friendship involves tolerance for the weaknesses of others-as these same people are tolerant of our own shortcomings . .

“Good friendships are those that wear well,” said Emerson.
When our attitudes are chivalrous,
we find that our friendships constantly grow stronger and richer.

“The age of chivalry is never past, so long as there is a wrong left unredressed on earth.”
Charles Kingsley

I would have never guessed.

I've been drawing and painting for many years and find digital graphics a blast!

I'm fine. We've had a lovely *HA!* storm
around here, the snow was being blown all
over. My dad's cat wouldn't even go outside
till my mom called him a chicken, he's a priss. ;-)

You had a Storm today? Ouch.
And your dad's cat likes to be outside.
That should give me an idea of how are things. :)

I'll bet you do. There are so many new tricks to work with digitally. I would love to learn some of it. I can only do the simplest things. But I have had much fun doing them!

Well, it was last night. You could hear the wind
whipping against the building, shaking it slightly.
My dad's cat likes to be outdoors, as long as the
weather isn't bad. He hates the rain, snow, sleet
etc. He looks at my parents as if THEY changed
the weather to keep him inside, it's THEIR fault.
Then he'll go outside just to prove he's a strong
outdoor type. There were cars that couldn't make
it up the hill outside our house & turned around.
It takes forever for the plows to actually start
plowing, then you still hear them at 3 in the morning.

I have a cat like that, if looks could kill some days we would have died a 1000 deaths already!

I can only do the simplest things.

Paint Shop Pro version X is much more complicated than previous versions and it's unfortunate they don't sell some of the earlier editions which were easier to learn.

Even though I've had PSP for quite a few years now, I still use only small portions of its capabilities. Whenever I have the time & inclination, I learn a little more.

Yeah, once he forces himself outside he looks
back at my parents like they tricked him, but
he won't come back in... he has to "show them".
It was freezing rain, the locks on the cars froze.
Drat that global warming, huh? ;-)

What's even funnier is when he insists on going
outside just to spite them. Then he sits out there
& looks at the door. Every time my mom or dad
looks outside, he has this "you tricked me!" look
on his face. When he finally comes in, he simply
MUST be toweled dry... by daddy.

Poor kitty...and his owners too. LOL!

I am sorry you have to suffer the winter that harsh.
Almost everybody else is having warmer temperatures for this time.
