Movie Actor Baldwin Launches Anti-Porn Action, Promises Newspaper Ads

NEW YORK A new sex-oriented business is opening not far from his home outside New York City, and actor Stephen Baldwin is promisiing to stop it, possibly with the help of newspaper ads.
One of the family of Baldwin brother (Alex, Billy, Daniel) actors, Stephen Baldwin has become known as a Christian activist. His home near Nyack, N.Y., has a sign bearing scripture right on his front lawn.
Baldwin, 39, stood outside the "adult entertainment" shop and photographed workers and their vehicles as they got the store ready to open, according to an account in the Journal-News of White Plains, N.Y.
Baldwin told the paper he planned to stand outside the store every day and photograph the license plates of the store's patrons to aid in tracking down their identities. He vowed to take out a full-page newspaper advertisement once a month to publish those names.
"I won't stop until it shuts down," he said. He has said the store will attract crime, lower property values and hurt the quality of life in the largely middle-class town, which is known as something of an artist's enclave.
"I don't want it this close to my house," Baldwin, who lives about a mile away, told the paper. "I'm personally not OK with pornography. I definitely think that it adds to the moral decay or our culture."
Local police "responded to the property last night after Baldwin called them about 9:30 p.m.," the newspaper related. "He said the workers were giving him a hard time for taking photographs. Police told Baldwin he was free to protest and take photographs as long as he was not on the store's property."
Are you referring to him or his brothers?
That said, he did some promo work recently for a tv cable movie coming up (I think with Tom Select, I don't know the movie), and made statements about skating and NOT working as much as he used to while ripping hollywood and talking about religion.
Oh sure it is. LOL! Your wife would probably kill you if she heard you say that. You are soooo bad. ;o)
I've seen Stephen Baldwin in movies, and he's a very good actor....
...but as a born again Christian, his eyes are open to the cesspool that Hollywood, et al has become (or always was)
That is an awesome movie, a must see for war movie fans. It showed what happens in a human vs. tank tread scenario. Enemy at the Gates could have been another excellent film about Soviets at war, but the ludricrous ending kind of spoiled it. The drama with the political officer sort of followed the documented story, but I just cannot envision the two deadliest snipers in WWII walking around in broad daylight.
Did he say that? Don't slam the guys fight just because of his last name.
Now if we could only get him to set up the same operation outside video stores selling his brother's movies...
Most people don't have problems believing me, until I mention that Ron Jeremy is her favorite porn star. I mean, it's also true, but... 8>)
I just looked him up in the internet movie database.
That statement is incorrect regarding his work.
Not only is it less, even the parts are smaller, as is the number of roles or work he appears in it.
Ignore wtc911. He claims insider knowledge and always states that Stephen is doing questioable movies. wtc911 has been saying stuff since Stephen became a Christian. Sounds like sour grapes.
If the ability to act was a requirement in Hollywood, most of these celebrities would be umemployed by now.
Granted his, lack of acting skills may be genetic based on his family.

I'm in the business and I know him both casually and professionally. The Snoop-Baldwin project I referenced is real and I did pass on helping it find money. You may believe what you like or whatever supports your personal view, however uninformed by reality it may be but I know what I know and I do not lie.....btw sonny...imdb does not list every film for any actor but it does list more in '05 for Baldwin than in any other year since 2000.
I don't like the nanny state, and I don't like people who get all into other people's business. Not much of a fan of his photogaphic exploits.
What's wrong with that?
You've been making the same claims for over a year. He was at the Creation Festival in 2004 and I posted in a thread about him being there. You posted your claims that summer about him. Same story. Pffffft!
IMDB is more accurate then anything out there, unless you can provide a better source.
Of his 2005 roles, it looks like cameos or bit parts.
It also lists his big years as 2000 and 2001, when he had his most work.
As for working in 2006 in a major role, he is under contract for a TV show for another couple of years, some sci-fi crap with Shannon Doherty and a couple of already made TV mvoies in again small parts.
As for Snoop Dog, I guess he never got his funding for his movie, he is going to be in several movies this year, including "coach snoop" (stupid as that sounds) plus some voice stuff and a probable new album.
If Baldwin somehow someway gets in a movie with Snoop, its not happening anytime in the next 2 years.
Well, at least his heart is in the right place with regards to the rest of his activities, unlike his goofball brother.

Those of us in the business use Variety and Hollywood Reporter subscription only premium services. Want to pay the money to get better info? Sign up at their sites. (and btw....check Tom Selleck on imdb. His new (completed) Tom Stone TV film isn't on it - so much for comprehensive listings).
The Snoop Dogg movie did not get funded, for a number of reasons. And, I have a copy of Baldwin's letter committing himself to the project in my files.
That films get 'packaged' but not financed is a very common happening. Creating Business Plans for indie films is part of what I do (and get paid pretty well for). I've seen good projects with talent like Hillary Duff, John Lithgow, Chris Walken, Ving Rhames, Sharon Stone, Val Kilmer, Gary Sinese, etc...bounce around for years and never come close. The actors sign LOIs (letters of intent) in the belief that their name will help the producers find the money. Some of the higher ranked talent will only do 'pay or play' LOI deals. This means that they get paid a % of their negotiated salary up front just for the use of their name to help raise funding. If after a year (usual period) the film is not officially 'in production' the actor is released from the commitment and keeps the money.
For a lesson in this pick up the Variety Cannes Market edition in May. It is full of hundreds of films (some made, some in production, some 'announced') that are being sold at the post-festival market. I guarantee that you will not recognize more than ten percent of them and not ever see more than a handful at block buster, let alone the multi-plex. The Cannes market is one of three such. The others are MIFED in Italy and the AFM in Santa Monica.
As in any industry things do not work within the indie film world the way people on the outside think they do. You can take my word for it or not, it's all the same to me, but I can tell you first-hand stories about this self-proclaimed Born Again Christian that would curl your toes.
