Ted Kennedy is probably the best weapon the Republicans have. I'm not sure I want to see him gone. The alternate ending to "It's a Wonderful Life" is "Teacher says, every time a Kennedy talks, a Republican gets a House seat."
Ol' Ted never was funny and according to people who witnessed his debacle at the questioning of Judge Alito, Kennedy's hands were shaking and he seemed to have a glassy out of it stare. Even if he were to resign his Senate seat, there would be endless numbers of Kennedy's to run in his place. They all think the same (if you call that thinking) so good old Mass. is going to be represented by Kennedy's into the year 3000. What a prospect!!
