Schwarzenegger's re - election chances up
The Argus ^ | Jan. 13, 2005 | Steve Geissinger

A recent poll shows the born-again "moderate" Republican governor has gained back some popularity, especially in the Bay Area, and is now in a dead heat with Democratic competitors.

"Our survey demonstrates that Schwarzenegger's retreat from the more conservative rhetoric and agenda he brandished during the latter part of 2005 has paid off among middle-of-the road voters," said Melinda Jackson, director of the Survey and Policy Research Institute at San Jose State University.

The governor's job performance rating among voters in a Democrat-leaning state has climbed from 36 percent positive and 53 percent negative in September, to 40 percent positive and 51 percent negative this month.

You're so full of it! Your advice will guarantee nothing but conservative defeat. Always.

Yawn. It was the choice of you and your ilk to pretend that you had a party without us. You can live with it or change. It's up to you. Heck, you might even find that integrity suits you.

Karaoke. Isn't that when pretenders try to fake a song?

Which has very little to do with my screen name.

Nah, I think it was your inside joke and you've surprised yourself that you've managed to be a fifth columnist for so long.

I will never vote for Arnold. I can not vote for a socialist. If my party wants my vote then they are responsible for giving me a candidate worth my vote. Voting for the R will get nothing if the R is more liberal than the D. And Arnold is more liberal than Davis was. What the heck did we recall Davis for if his agenda is going to be pushed by the new Republican? Arnold is a disaster and the CAGOP better wake up and smell the coffee.

I said 'I think', karaoke. Are you that dim to not know the difference between thinking and evidence, or any division is good division, from your point of view?

Many, which is why if they want to change representatives they should be independent and try it in the primaries when it is safe.

Conservatives can NOT afford in the regular election to not vote the Republican in. At that point all should vote the Republican in no matter what.

If you only come out of the closet to vote for your perfect candidate, then you are sabotaging the whole conservative movement.

Unfortunately California is a liberal state because of all the unions and public employees in this state. We can not make major parties the state in one massive shot. It takes perhaps lots of steps. Sometimes three steps forward and two steps back, but it is the only way to get to the end goal of having far more conservative people elected to office.

There is no easy fix and not voting or voting some third party as a protest vote is backwards thinking.

You just a regular littl bawl baby aren't you? The reason you're lost on this thread and most of the other like it, is that most actual factual Conservatives never enslave themselves to a political party, but much prefer to vote for the individual who consistently and conscientiously carries the ball for the people in the political subdivision the most conservatively possible!!!

Yes! We're often Party Poopers and we delight in it! We delighted in Reagan because he welcomed us and we literally loved almost everything about him. He disappointed us far less often than this putrid political midget that is CA's lessor successor to even Pete Wilson or even Gray Davis for that matter!!!

Schwartzenegger simply SUCKs!!!

I will never vote for Arnold. I can not vote for a socialist.

He was willing to be fiscally conservative and to take on the unions until the people screwed him, so he didn't start off all that left at all. Arnold will probably be the party representative in a reelection bid and if you do not vote for him you are being a good Democrat.

If Arnold doesn't get in you'll get a radical communist. Swift move there I must say.

Au contraire! Voting for a pro-abort, pro-fudgie, pro-gun grabber, pro-higher tax or bond and spend, pro-publick brainwashing centers candidate can NEVER be conservative no matter what the political label. I almost never vote other than GOP but then the muscled marionette of Wilson, Parskey, Buffet, et al., and in-law by marriage to Chappaquiddick Ted the Swimmer is nt on my ballot. If Illinois State Treasurer and pro-abort and gun grabber and pro-fudgie Judy Bahr Toooopinka were the GOP nominee for governor here, she will never get my vote.
