The rate of homosexuals in our society is ~1%.

The rate of homosexuals being portrayed on TV is ~35% or more as most TV shows have one somewhere in the cast.

That show is just Dumb. All they needed to do was give Jesus a Jewish accent to make the banality complete.

The Book of Daniel is about an Episcopal priest named Daniel Webster. He is addicted to pain pills. His daughter sells drugs. One son is gay. The other is promiscuous with women. His supervisor, a female bishop, is having an affair with his father, who is also a bishop cheating on his Alzheimer's-afflicted wife. He has a friend who is a local Catholic priest connected with the Mafia.

Wow, its like a page right out of my Diary.

Church people are not freaks. They ... hav[e] the same values and problems as the Hollywood moguls.

Hardly.

Mogul: Which Bentley do I drive today?
Human: Which car is least bent today?

Mogul: Should I go to the Baldwins' mazola party Saturday night, or should I hang out at the mansion snorting coke?
Human: Should I have the guys over to watch the game on Sunday, or should we just wreck Pete's place again?

Mogul: How can I promote shows that revile Christians, promote homosexuality, and glorify irresponsibility?
Human: How can I avoid shows that revile Christians, promote homosexuality, and glorify irresponsibility?

Mogul: Let them eat cake.
Human: Storm the Bastille!

It's been yanked in Nashville. I heard about that on the radio news today. I never watch NBC (or ABCBS) anyway.

Daniel is simply the face of liberal theology. The same kind of worldliness, cultural conformity, sexual permissiveness, and baptized secularism is rampant in mainline Protestantism. And it is creeping into evangelical circles.

Yep. This is exactly right. I've actually heard guys in the locker room DEBATING this stuff. Apparently one of the larger evangelical churches in our very conservative town is pushing a "God loves everything - let's all get along" outlook. I've heard the same sort of stuff from Catholic pulpits. This show was a good warning of where it all leads.

I watched the show last night on the Tulsa, OK NBC affiliate KJRH-2. I wanted to see what businesses were running ads during the show. ROTFLMAO! NBC ran tons of ads for NBC....national and local programming. Besides that, only ONE OTHER AD for Burlington Coat Factory ran, and that was toward the very end of the show.

And the show stunk, too.

When will they put on a show featuring a Muslim family with the same problems? Shall I hold my breath?
