Jan. 13, 2006 Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.
U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might be in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

To this day there has been no disclosure of the DNA tests done on Zarqawi's possible remains in Iraq. I don't know why.
Now the Paki mediots and our liberal mediots are saying we killed innocents and no al Qaeda killers were there in this raid.
Bush's fault...:-)
Now that we have ability to real time sigint from our new UMV, U.S. Global Hawk UAV and then instantly follow up with death dealing predators. The al Qaeda top thugs, who are still alive will be going really underground.

Without much fanfare, the U.S. Global Hawk UAV is taking over from manned aircraft, and space satellites. In the past year, Global Hawk was successfully tested a signals intelligence payload, as part of the Airborne SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) Payload (ASIP) program. The high flying Global Hawk can thus do the work of low flying (and much more expensive) SIGINT space satellites. The U.S. Navy also conducted successful tests using Global Hawk for maritime reconnaissance. The air force is also retiring its U-2 reconnaissance aircraft, and replacing them with Global Hawks. The air force and the navy are building at least 50 Global Hawks, and probably more. Thats because other nations are developing long range UAVs. Meanwhile, India and Israel are using medium range UAVs (similar to the Predator) for maritime reconnaissance. All of this activity doesnt generally make the news, but it does confirm that UAVs are not just another techno-fad, but are pulling their weight, and replacing manned aircraft, and space satellites as well.
Damn, so close again but so far.
This morning I was flipping the channels and I caught cnn concentrating on the women and children that were errantly killed. Sigh... The lamestream likes to harp on all the positive angles in these situations, don't they?
Especially when GWB is in power. If it were clinton or kerry or gore, then, hey, the women and children wouldn't even be mentioned.
Damn, today the news is reporting this as not likly ..but I'm still hoping the rotten bastard's corpse is in the bowels of hell.
