Jan. 13, 2006 Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.
U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might be in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

I don't know if this is the situation we had here...but..
I remember one of the neatest things I saw from when we were initially in Afghanistan...was when they showed our military....pinpointing a place to strike...
And then showing the planes hitting the site that the forces on the ground pointed out to them.'
Perhaps that happened here...

Are these your words, didn't see this in your link, "A reliable source with high-level U.S. contacts tells me that U.S. "really believes" we might have whacked him."
Not my words but rather attributed to MSNBC through Counter Terror blog. I should have linked to Counterterror. Sorry!

"We better not have found him using illegal wiretaps. That would be WRONG!"
Someone should email Sen. Teddy Qaeda about this so he can blusteringly bring this up in the Alito confirmation hearings.Oh, the outrage of trying to protect Americans by wiretapping overseas calls to look for terrorists.

Personally, I want to see him and Bin on trial in NYC.
But if he's dead then that's just fine. He was Bin's "Brains" behind the operations, and a royal weasel. It will be great just seeing his ugly-azz face disappear from the phony videos and from the world stage.
Bu-bye you freeeeeeeAk.
