EXCLUSIVE: Pakistani Military Sources Say Zawahiri May Be Dead

Jan. 13, 2006 — Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.

U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might be in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

That will take time, and according to the AP story many of the bodies have already been buried....DNA tests need body parts....and take a few days to a few weeks....

We'll know within the next 24 hours (max) - Those on scene will know within the next 2 to 10 hours (if they don't already - Which I'm guessing they do).

For a long time one of the favorite talking points of the Libs has been to ask why we didn't attack Iran, Syria, Saudi, and N Kor instead of innocent Iraq. What will they say, if anything, after Iran?

Iran has been labeled the worst offender as a sponsor of terrorism for years.

They have used Al qaeda and any other group that will do their bidding.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the real command and control comes from Iran.

The article a few weeks ago that spoke about the demise of bin Laden said he had died while receiving care in Iran. I wish I could find a link to it.
