How credible is this?
PETA Kills Animals ^ | Center for Consumer Freedom

Posted on 01/13/2006 2:48:52 PM PST by clio morrel

1) PETA president and co-founder Ingrid Newkirk has described her group’s overall goal as “total animal liberation.” This means no meat, no milk, no zoos, no circuses, no wool, no leather, no hunting, no fishing, and no pets (not even seeing-eye dogs). PETA is also against all medical research that requires the use of animals.

2) Despite its constant moralizing about the “unethical” treatment of animals by restaurant owners, grocers, farmers, scientists, anglers, and countless other Americans, PETA has killed over 10,000 dogs and cats at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. During 2003, PETA put to death over 85 percent of the animals it collected from members of the public.

3) PETA has given tens of thousands of dollars to convicted arsonists and other violent criminals. This includes a 2001 donation of $1,500 to the North American Earth Liberation Front (ELF), an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for dozens of firebombs and death threats. During the 1990s, PETA paid $70,200 to an Animal Liberation Front (ALF) activist convicted of burning down a Michigan State University research laboratory. In his sentencing recommendation, a federal prosecutor implicated PETA president Ingrid Newkirk in that crime. And PETA vegetarian campaign coordinator Bruce Friedrich told an animal rights convention in 2001 that “blowing stuff up and smashing windows” is “a great way to bring about animal liberation.”

i kind of hope this isn't credible for the sake of the animals allegedly slaughtered, but i won't be surprised if it is true.

I have heard this sort of thing before - I'd tend to believe it.

Totally credible, albeit 6 months old now.

Ingrid Newkirk has no brains, no clue and no chance of this ever happening. This must be their annual appeal to the tens of thousands of musheaded donors to PETA.

CCF is a credible source for data on the animal rights and environmentalist wackos.

I've heard it before and I believe it...typical hypocrisy of the liberal left. PETA is all about social engineering and their pockets.

It's 100% credible. Heck, it wasn't that long ago that a couple of PETA members were caught illegally dumping a large number of cat corpses into a dumpster!

"This means no meat, no milk, no zoos, no circuses, no wool, no leather, no hunting, no fishing, and no pets (not even seeing-eye dogs). PETA is also against all medical research that requires the use of animals."

I suppose it hasn't crossed this whack job's mind that eliminating all uses for animals will be tantamount to genocide, especially for domesticated animals such as pets. Liberals oppose the utilitarian use of nearly everything, be it animal, vegetable or mineral.

"Heck, it wasn't that long ago that a couple of PETA members were caught illegally dumping a large number of cat corpses into a dumpster!"

These are generally the same folks who consider infanticide a vital element of "family planning."

Predator control in Alaska has become a serious program of the State. Also, education of the truth about ANWR to offset the misinformation by 'non-profit' Greenie groups.

At the same time that these people decry keeping dogs and cats as slavery they also say that dogs and cats (and cows, etc) are manmade animals that should be eliminated from the natural earth. There is no inconsistency here. They don't think men (except themselves, as caretakers) should have any more rights or advantages than animals. They seem to believe in a technologically advanced very small elite overseeing a planet with a 50 million or so paleolithic humans "living naturally."

I remember that too. They got busted because the went over state lines (or was it county lines)to dump the bodies of the pets they had liberated.

These people are disgusting. They are a joke as far as I'm concerned. Do they want to live with rats and mice? They don't want anyone to have cats or dogs for vermin control, they don't want the little beasties to be poisoned.

They don't want any meat eating, or leather goods. So how are they going to cloth themselves? In hemp and plastic? Idiots. Complete and total idiots.

The medical field, especially geriatric care, is discovering more and more the benefits of small animal ownership to elderly persons. Dogs are used in treatment of autism, not to mention the service animals that alert to diabetic and epileptic seizures.

I live alone, 1500 miles from my closest family. I am disabled and I have a cockatoo (yeah, I know, hell of a choice for a pet) she is a wonderful bright (albeit noisy) light in my life. I miss her like crazy when I have to be away form her. I have a couple of cats too. I guess I have turned into one of those crazy old ladies.

So if your listening PETA, take your bs and stuff if it. I'm not giving up my pets. I vote, and I'm a proud member of the NRA.

No pets nor seeing eye dogs! Probably no service animals for the disabled either. What would be the purpose of the animals who provide these sevices to humans?

Grrr. Can't stnd this group.

It's credible. The people running PETA are out of touch freaks and so are those on the BOD, and running the Humane Society of the U.S.

There's plenty of info out there to prove this.
