LOL, yes, this is my perceiption, too. This includes the German press corps, too. I could bash the N24-guy!!
LOL! The President (not meaning to insult Steve, as he says) is explaining diplomacy to the press corps.
Seems like President Bush´s favourite word today is "unacceptable". :-)
Chancellor Merkel giving a good answer about the progress of the dealings with Iran.
Michael - Ihren ZEnglisch ist sehr gut. Studierten Sie in Gross Britanien? Mein Deutsch is nicht gut.
I must also say, that it is a pleasure to see the governments og Germany and the USA talking civilly to each other again without name-calling.
I also find it interesting that Dr. Merkel is from the former area of the DDR/GDR.
I´m loving it. :-) Thanks for the compliment, no, I just 9 years English in school.
This is an amazing statement from a German leader. And she is correct.
First Merkel, then Paul Martin. I sense a sea change in international politics. The US will soon be able to count a few more true friends.
Chancellor Merkel seem to be a very good speaker - that is, she does not hesitate to speak her views on all the important issues of the day. She is willing to agree and also to disagree with the USA without being insulting. I like her alot.
Ha! President Bush said that "neither of us exactly landslided our way into office." LOL!
One important thing: Merkel wants closer relations.
And she wants that our people understand the need for cooperation.
Now Bush is making jokes: "We both were elected by an overwhelming majority of the voters" "I wish Schröder all the best, we had agreements, ... and disagreements".
Have a good lunch, Mr. President, Mrs. Chancellor!!
A funny guy. He called Merkel "smart" and that she has "a mind I can deal with very well"
I weish they could have Bier mit Wurst u. Kartoffelsalat! I suppose it will be chicken or some other traditional food.
Paul Martin, a friend?
Me too. From now on, Germany and the US are friends again. There won´t be insults thrown on each other. All issues we disagree on will be discussed in a friendly atmosphere of respect.
God bless your President, and my Chancellor.
Besides being allies, it's good to see the two leaders have personal rapport.
Too bad she used a translator to speak to the American people. She's more likable than I thought.
Yep.
CHICKEN?? AND THE BIRD FLU??? PANIC!!!! LOL.
It has been a long time to have something to smile about regarding our two countries, sure does feel good.
She can speak English fluently, and she has proven it during her last visits (last time it was Feb 2003) - but now she acts as the German Chancellor, and we don´t want to hear our Chancellor through a translator in the evening news. I´m sure you understand it. :-)
