It has been a long time to have something to smile about regarding our two countries, sure does feel good.
Tell you, I have been longing for that day to come since Schröder threw mud on Washington. His actions were the reason why I registered here. Still, the damage he caused in huge - but Merkel´s clear words help a lot.
For me, the most important is that Merkel and Bush both want close (!) relations. On Monday, Merkel will visit Moscow and meet Putin (note that she met Bush first!); maybe she´s going to get the support of Putin against Iran.
