He sat on his "mind" one too many times. It suffocated
Great Toon!
Actually, I was thinking Estrada and typed Gonzales...these people are messing with my mind!
None of them knows how Alito would have ruled on the Schiavo case. This is such crap.
He had NOTHING to do with that case.
It passed out into the night like a ship in the fog.
Kevin's good.
Melissa stinks
Leahy just said he asked several questions to Alito about the Terri Shiavo case.
I know he TALKED about it several times, but did he ever actually ask a question about it?
A republican should ask Shultz if Senator Leahy objected to the unanimous consent request that allowed the Senate to do what he now says was a horribly bad thing to do. He didn't, obviously, or it wouldn't have passed. Then they could ask her if she thinks Leahy did so so he could bring it up at hearings and complain about it.
:-)
I wonder, if Senator Leahy was so "outraged," by Congress's intervention in the Terri Schiavo case, then why didn't he voice any of these objections to his Dem. colleagues, the vast majority of whom agreed with the people that were perpetrating this "outrage?"
Does anyone remember how the last BLACK supreme court nominee was treated??? by the Democrats.
Not to mention the last Hispanic associate court nominee.
Great! LOL!
here we go scheduling
Specter SAID Janu 17th..........let's see if Dingy Harry won.
:-) No worries
Who are they?
Let me rephrase. He's filling a vacancy created by the death of Chief Justice Rhenquist.
I know there's no quotas; perhaps somebody should tell the panel.
I do not think he did.
Or Miguel Estrada
All Leahy had to do was object to the unanimous consent request, and the whole thing would have been shut down. There was no vote scheduled in the senate, and with a single objection it would have been out of order and Leahy could have allowed Shiavo to be killed the way he wanted her to be.
Alito is replacing O'Connor.
I would love to see how Gonzalez fils reacts to an Hispanic SC nominee named Estrada, or Garza.
