"Separation Anxiety: Congress, the Courts, and the Constitution" in Georgetown Law Journal (2003) (with Hillary Rodham Clinton)"

What a surprise, eh?

The Cape Cod Manatee is an endless source of entertainment.

Manatee? Did he either go on a crash diet or have gastric bypass?

"remember this guy so we can tell our grandchildren to oppose him if he ever gets nominated"...

BOY, we were thinking the same thing....I got the impression that that smart aleck little SNOT was trying out for the SCOTUS today!!!

This is MORE of a reason for the GOP to stay in power for the next 50 years!

Liu, a Rhodes Scholar, serves on the board of directors of the American Constitution Society in Washington, the ACLU

Anyone who honestly believes anyone associated with the ACLU wants Alito on the Supreme Court raise their hands.

Liu certainly had a 'progressive agenda' and used some heavy handed negative language about Alito, and then Carter Phillips to his right...ate his lunch.

I liked what Coburn said yesterday. This was regarding international law, SC justices basing opinions on it. In a very careful way he spoke that good behavior was required and justices basing opinions on international laws...was considered bad behavior. He never used impeachment but that's what he was saying.

Let's face it, no matter how much we despise McVAIN we don't have anyone prominent enough

HAAAAAAAAAA! How predominate was Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton or GH Bush or GW Bush before running for President? Prominence is NOT a good selling point for a Presidential Candidate. It will NOT be McCain. Not a hope in hell of winning the Republican nomination in 2008. McCain MAY win in the NE states, and Arizonia, he will win NO other Republican Primaries. He is DEAD to the base. As a potential Republican delegate and local party activist, I can tell you McCain has ZERO chance of wining the nomination in 2008. Republicans value loyalty. They LOVED the way Reagan stood by Ford in 1976, they will NOT forgive the many betrayals since 2000 by McCain. Not a chance.

So the network bought the phone cards from the terrorists?

I figure making up stuff against them is fair play turnabout. I don't know it for a fact, so just assumed if they (ABC) knew it, it was because they were involved. ;-)

GOODWIN LIU
I am honored to be nominated for the Board. I grew up in Northern California, attending public school in Sacramento before going to college at Stanford. After law school, I spent several years in Washington, including one year clerking for one of the ACLU’s finest, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, another year in the Clinton Administration working on civil rights and K-12 policy in the U.S. Department of Education, and two years in an appellate litigation practice. Now in my second year on the Boalt faculty, I am eager to bring to the ACLU what I bring to my teaching and research: a passion for civil rights, broad expertise in constitutional law, and a commitment to liberty and opportunity for the dissenters and disadvantaged in our society.
NOMINATED BY: Board of Directors
INCUMBENT: No

Hello,

Great points!! McCain will never be selected by the base to run for President. Not going to happen. I do not know who our selection will be in 2008, but he (who needs serious anger management counseling) will not be it.

Glad to be here, MOgirl

And... he was probably a sacrificial goat since any lefty with a shred of sense would have declined to walk into the liberal meat grinder that these hearings had become. Liu is just cocky enough to have taken the hook that more experienced lib attorneys would have spit out.

Lui is one of those little sh*ts who can't wait to see the lib *catch phrase of the day* so he can be the first to use it at the local Starbucks. So predictable, so transparent.
