Suburban Bird-Feeding Couple Assaulted
WEST CHICAGO - West Chicago police said they arrested a local man suspected of running over a 71-year-old woman with her own pickup and battered her husband during a carjacking attempt. Officers said David Martinez-Villareal, 21, was arrested Sunday morning near his home and charged with vehicular invasion, aggravated vehicular hijacking, six counts of aggravated battery and two counts of aggravated battery to a senior citizen.
NBC5's Mary Ann Ahern reported that the couple routinely fed birds each morning, and were feeding birds at 8 a.m. For some unexplained reason, Martinez-Villareal began yelling at the couple, authorities said.
"The offender then went to the driver's side (of the) vehicle, punched the husband in the face repeatedly," said DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett. "His wife (then) got out of the vehicle and yelled at the person who was attacking her husband. The offender then turned his attention toward the wife and beat her up unmercifully."

Police alleged that Villareal then got into the car and drove the vehicle over the woman's body. Police caught Villareal within minutes, Birkett said.
The woman remained in critical condition Monday at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, but her 65-year-old husband was treated and released. The retired couple has lived in the West Chicago area for more than 30 years.
"It appeared that she had been run over her shoulder and the back of her head," said Laz Perez of the West Chicago Police. "For someone to get beaten that bad for no reason whatsoever, it' s an embarrassment that it happened in my community."
West Chicago Police said Villareal moved to the United States from Mexico and has lived in the area for a little more than a year, Ahern reported.
Villareal was taken to the DuPage County Jail, where he is being held on $2 million bond. If found guilty, Villareal could spend up to 30 years in jail.
"There's no explainable motive -- people do violent horrible things," Birkett said. "Sometimes you think you've seen it all, and then you realize you haven't."
Git a rope
Who speaks for us anymore? We only pay for it all. Is this what our fathers worked so hard and died to create?
A rope may not be needed if the perp is entered in the stairwell bobsled races.
I'm embarrassed we let scum like this into our country, legal or otherwise....by the way, did they say he came the "easy" way (illegally) or the "hard" way (legally)...I suspect the former...I'd say this is a case of attempted murder and he should be tried as such. Odd they didn't mention his status or the charge....
Citizen? Illegal? I wonder why the article doesn't say.
Illinois is one of only four states that insist on keeping their citizens defenseless.
All other states have some form of concealed carry permit.
Yet Mayor Daly (who has armed personal body guards and police at disposal) made sure innocent victims are not allowed to defend themselves against younger stronger violent criminals with his anti personal protection-anti firearm agenda.
Daly should be arrested and jailed...minimum
As for Mr. Villereal...deport this scum bag right after he gets out of serving a truth in sentencing 50 yr stretch for attempted murder ,aggravated assault & car jacking. imo
Don't know. It'll come out soon.
Force Mexico to build prison in Mexico to keep all these criminals/murders in. Ship him back and make them pay for it. Then have U.S. Monitor Mexican prisons that have done crimes in U.S., again at Mexico's expense.
Ya know,
When I was his age, stairwell bobsled races would be in order.
Now I carry a gun. Im to old for shennanigans.
The punk deserves to go down hard.
I had one dipwad try to carjack me once, at a stoplight (tried to enter the car) Pistol disuaded him, and it was a lil .25
My heart was thumpin, but it beat a roundy round with some Ahole.
That .25 has long since been sent to the lockeroom as "underpowered" But I keep it to this day (generally in a pocket or sock L0L)
I think we sort of know what his status is.
It will stay that way as long as we have dems running the state, I am 60 years old and I don't see that changing in my life time.
For those who would suggest that I just move. Try that when you have a life time invested in your home, jobs and family, including children, grand children and now even a great grand child. (Click my screen name to see that handsome boy)
from what I've heard and experienced with fights or "conflicts" of the criminal type.... you'll be within 2-5 feet of somebody when you need your weapon. A "little underpowered .25" going off 2-5 feet from somebody's head or chest is gonna leave a mark.... especially if 2-3 rounds go off that close.
the "best" weapon to use, is the one you'll carry and "use". For times that I can't carry a normal weapon.. I'll carry a .22 Berreta.... it's got .22 remmington yellow jackets.... I figure if I let loose with 3-4 somewhere in the middle of somebody's chest at 5 feet... it's gonna sting a little.
Well, that's one way of saying "illegal alien", I guess.
encroaching - Goodnight.
I always meant to deploy that lil thing in an ear "can you hear me now"
Thats all its was good for
