Alamo-Girl used to have a super Newcomers Welcome Desk and Information Center. I've been on extended leave from FR. Is there still a place where newbies can go to get oriented, pick up some lingo, learn etiquette, get questions answered without getting flamed, etc.?
My sister just registered, so I'm trying to help her out.
Thanks!

I mean c'mon, most of us went through that. It's like a rite-of-passage.

I think there should be a safe haven somewhere on Free Republic for the more delicate types among us. It's good to be tough-minded, no doubt, but there's something to be said for decorum and civil discourse, too. I think FReepers are deep enough thinkers and magnanimous enough to allow for both.
Valuing decorum and civility is part and parcel with conservatism, IMO.
