Last month, Yeshiva University presented Hillary Clinton with an honorary degree. Commemorating Yeshiva's 81st annual Hanukkah convocation, a 700-strong crowd of students, alumni, and friends assembled on December 11 in a gilded ballroom at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in midtown. Yeshiva's president, Richard Joel, and seven trustees escorted New York's junior senator to the podium, surrounding her in a sea of caps and gowns, regaling her with ceremonial pomp.
Joel touted Clinton's achievements, singling out not only her "political leadership" on Capitol Hill, but also her "commitment to peace and security for the Jewish homeland." He handed her a diploma and told her, "You are a strong advocate for religious freedom, and in so many ways an inspiration."
[snip] Her biggest coup came in the summer of 2000, when Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, an Orthodox Jew, orchestrated a visit with Dov Hikind, a Borough Park assemblyman. Hikind had been a vocal detractor, urging Clinton not to run on his WMCA AM radio show. By June, he was blasting her in the pages of The Washington Times. Around then, Silver arranged for the two to meet. "I said, 'Hillary, let me explain why people are upset,' " Hikind recalls. She let himfor two hours. Afterward, he never publicly criticized her again.
[snip] "She knew she had to prove herself to New Yorkers and establish her own record," says her spokesperson Philippe Reines.
Darn. I googled the web for that photo of hillary kissing Suha Arafat after she accused the Jews of gassing children, and I can't find it anywhere. Has it vanished down the memory hole, or is Google just hiding it from me?

(If you're familiar with the original-cast era of Saturday Night Live, you know why that's funny.
Didn't Hillary once imply she had a Jewish G'ma? (or some feminine Jewish relative?)
By marriage...
Translation for the goyim in the crowd??
Ok...here is something:
"The reasoning behind Clinton's claim is completely ridiculous. Neither of her parents were Jewish, nor were any of her grandparents. Hillary Clinton has never practiced Judaism. Her claim rests on the sole fact that her mother's second husband happened to be Jewish. Clinton's mother married her second husband after Hillary Clinton and her brothers were grown. Clinton's stepfather did not actually raise her or her brothers, and her mother did not convert to Judaism after marrying her second husband. By all accounts, Hillary's parents raised her as a Christian, and her family never celebrated any Jewish holidays or observed any Jewish traditions. In other words, this is perhaps the least credible claim to Jewish ancestry ever made.
Hillary Clinton's political calculation here is obvious. By claiming to be partially Jewish, Clinton hoped to solidify her support in New York's sizeable Jewish community. This was particularly important after Clinton made some public statements endorsing the creation of a Palestinian state and later retracted her comments on the topic. By claiming to be partially Jewish, Clinton hoped that New York's Jewish voters would suddenly forget her previous support of Yasser Arafat and his dreams of dividing Israel."

Is she changing her name to Ester like Madonna did ?
Can't help ya'.
I'm surprised Yeshiva hasn't given Jessie "Hymietown" Jackson "honorary Jew" status yet.
There are, you know, Goyim who speak and read Hebrew.
The headline says: Suha Arafat claims Israel poisons the water in the territories.
The balloon says- I hope it's not catching.
has mrs Arafat already shared some of the loot with the DNC?
I guess the Jewish people aren't as smart as I thought they were.
I expect to catch a lot of flak for this. Nevertheless.
Politicians lie for advantage. We all know that. We all know that the electorate wants to believe and frequently does.
Hillary is regularly saying all the things the pro Israel community wants to hear.
Bush/Rice are regularly saying and doing things the pro Israel community considers hostile to Israel.
Many Pro Israel, Jewish, Bush voters feel betrayed by Bush.
To some who despised Bill, and Hillary by extension, compared to the current Bush/Rice policies, Bill's years seem like the good old days vis a vis US policy towards Israel.
