Rep. Murtha Working With Code Pink to Undermine Morale of Wounded at Walter Reed

Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) met with leaders of the anti-American group Code Pink last week at the anti-Operation Iraqi Freedom meeting in Arlington, Virginia hosted by Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.)

Code Pink posted pictures of the meeting along with a statement indicating they will be working with Rep. Murtha to deliver "kindness and support to the wounded soldiers" at Walter Reed.

Code Pink has given $650,000 to the terrorists in Fallujah, participated in war crimes tribunals against America and has called American soldiers "killers" on their website among many treasonous actions.

Thank You Congressman Murtha! CODEPINK co-founder Gael Murphy and DC coordinator Allison Yorra met with Congressman Murtha to thank him for his courageous stand on Iraq. We presented him with our pink badge of courage and pink flowers sent by CODEPINK members nationwide. Rep Murtha was very appreciative of these gestures and requested that we ask legislators to support H.J Res 73 (Murtha's resolution). He also requested that we use additional donations for the wounded at Walter Reed. DC CODEPINK along with other peace groups involved in the weekly vigil at Walter Reed recently delivered baskets of goodies to the wounded at Walter Reed. Together, with Murtha's office, we will be continuing this outpouring of kindness and support to the wounded soldiers from CODEPINK.

I wish I comprehended better the intelligence-treachery issues implied and somewhat explained here, but my opinion about Murtha has always been a dubious one.

Admittedly, I refrained from speaking out about Murtha out of respect for President Bush, and in avoidance of providing the Democrats any more fodder using him than they were so seeking (in fact, I think Murtha is being used and promoted by Democrats as a token "military" representative, when, in fact, he's anything but based upon his statements of late -- but it sure looks like he has a history of working to undermine, based upon my limited understanding of the articles linked here).

Murtha has always made an "Oliver Stone" impression upon me, like he's posing for purposes of undermining.

Now that he's being photographed with Code Pink, however, I am quite sure of my earlier impressions. People should be told more about Code Pink, who they are, what they intend and represent, and that Murtha is even giving them the time of day is a very bad statement for anyone with association to our Congress and defense.

The next meeting of the Arlington County Board is Sat. Jan. 21 with public comment at 8:30 am. They give you 2 minutes to speak to the all-Dim Board. I'll be there, along with other vets, to ask what they've done for troops returning to Arlington - expand dog-poop parks, build more speed bumps and day labor centers.

I'm the vet that challenged them when they touted the Pledge of Alligance as divisive.
