Well, this is not what I expected, but at National Guard Drill this weekend, I expected to receive orders to deploy to New Orleans, LA in support of Operation Katrina relief (yes, Arkansas National Guard is still there), or to Iraq/Afghanistan since I didn't go with the 142nd FA this month. But instead, I received orders to active duty for many months to Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
I was needing advice on the SE area of Arizona, specifically, Sierra Vista, Tuscon, Bigsby, etc.
I spent all day with ATF getting my Class III firearms ready to go to be stored at the company armory via forms 5230.20 (interstate transport). Luckily the Brigade Arms room officer has some room and knows NFA laws.
This is my first deployment in a while, and luckily it is stateside. I will be assigned to the 111st Military Intelligence Brigade and will let you guys know when I get situated.
I was just wondering if there are any Freeper Military types at FT. Huachuca,AZ and can give me a "heads up" on the goings-on there.
Jinxie and SandRat are both at Ft.H -- Hey guys -- he's headed your way -- any words of wisdom????
If lucky, I may just be the guy to kill OBL ;)
Spiff is here too.
HiJinx and SandRat will both be around at some point this evening! Also - I just remembered - Old Sarge has been out there as well. Don't know if he'll be checking in or not tonight.
He he he!
Speak of the devil...
So to speak!!
I leave this in your capable hands!
LOL
By the way, you are way to cute!...and a Freeper to boot! We need to go out. Sending a private email now....
Best friend from High School stationed @ Fort Huachuca - hope to visit sometime.
What do you want to know? I've lived in Sierra Vista for nearly 20 years and I know the area, to include Fort Huachuca, very well.
Plus, I am doing alot of flying lately and need POC's for FAA flight training and local shooting ranges.
I am an investment banker in real life, and will be calling on banks in the area when I get off active duty, so any financial contacts would be cool too.
Thanks in advance!

Ibid last post.
Oh, yeah, what is entertaining in area? I have never been to SE/SW of the United States. I like the fact that I'm close to Tuscon and Tombstone...I like old Westerns, etc. I also love a good meal ;)...which leads me to my next question....what is terrain like...I'll be doing alot of jogging and biking in the area.
>>>local shooting ranges.
It's called the desert. :)
When I get home from work - I'll private message you the e-mail address of my HS classmate - he's got quite a gun collection he likes to take out.
