Plymouth, Mass. -- Police shot and killed a 16-year-old boy early Tuesday after he drove a car at them while fleeing the scene of a possible burglary attempt, authorities said.
The two officers opened fire, killing Anthony McGrath, following a high-speed chase that started at a liquor store in Plymouth.
"My son got a death sentence," the boy's mother, Denise McGrath, told reporters. "I want to know who killed my son for no reason at all."

"Where the hell was she when her son was robbing people?"
Prolly, sitting on her butt at home, waiting for her cut.
Yeah, he could be eating pudding and getting a reach around...
All things considered, I'd rather be dead.. ;o)
...after he drove a car at them while fleeing the scene of a possible burglary attempt...
Another dead stupid criminal.
Not just another stupid criminal, but an entire stupid family, evidently.
We seriously need asylums for the criminally retarded.
Who knows maybe it was suicide by cop. I can't imagine the young man not knowing the police would respond with deadly force if he drove a car at them.
That's when you pick up something and knock the hell out of them.
Of course, by using discipline consistently and wisely throughout the child's life, the likelihood of this occurring is minimized.
Sooner or later though, the boy will try out the Old Man. It may not be physical, but it is likely to be. That is why fathers are needed in a family, because an average 16 year old can beat the daylights out of his mother, and both son and mother know it.
If only this kid's family had held a $10,000 fund raiser for Riley, he would not have had to try and take out the cops.
There is no justice for the poor.
What makes you think this mother falls into that category?
She's just blaming the police, not an 'out of control' son.
Making parents responsible for their kids is not nonsense, it's the law...and the 'bad seed' argument doesn't stand up in court. A person who loses control of their car isn't given a pass. Why should a parent who loses control over their kid be assumed blameless?
Parents I've known with out of control kids sent them to military or 'reform' schools. No fairytale endings, but so far none of them have ended up like this.
Good point. I stand corrected.
As I understand it, a person must remove themselves from the gene pool before being nominated for the award - unable to pass along their stupidity to another generation.
Obviously, there could have been cases decided since then that have made other differences...
Your right about the citizen part too. I agree 100% with you. I wrote it in the context that i did because the story was about a police officer in the situation.
'I want to know who killed my son for no reason at all. . ."
And this is what happens when the police officers are not as expert marksmen as the Plymouth officers: You get run over, dragged and then sued by the SOB!

Man who tried to run over police sues for $20 million
(Syracuse, NY - AP) A 20-year-old man who struck two police officers with his jeep last year has filed a claim for 20 million dollars, saying he should not have been shot.
Elliott Green, serving seven years in state prison, was shot in the chest and groin on October 7th, 2004.
Acting as his own lawyer, Green says in federal court papers that he was under the influence of drugs, alcohol and embalming fluid, which made him "nervous and jumpy" and probably contributed to his trying to drive off.
According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, he is seeking compensation from the police department for "pain and suffering, mental anguish, unnecessary force and anything else that deems necessary."
Syracuse police officials declined to comment.
Officer Michael Goudy was dragged and pinned by the white Jeep Cherokee, and Officer Daniel Babbage was hit and thrown in the air.
Babbage fired seven shots, hitting Green three times. A grand jury found Babbage acted "appropriately and justifiably."
Green pleaded guilty in January to two felony counts of attempted aggravated assault upon a police officer.
Prime material for Ed Kennedy to investigate. He's good with "cars"
Statistic prove that you are 10 times more likely to die while a passenger in a vehicle driven by any member of the Kennedy family than by sticking your head in a wood chipper.
Joan Kennedy has been arrested for drunk-driving four times since the mid-1970s and has repeatedly undergone rehabilitation treatment for alcohol addiction.
That is correct. Merely being stupid isn't enough. The stupid person must either die or lose the ability to reproduce to be eligible for a Darwin award.
"Mama didn't let her son grow up to be a cowboy."
What. Are you telling me that his momma was a homofobe too?
Yuk, yuk...
But...but...but...what about the rule book? Was it changed, and by whom? (As I wrote the rule book, you are both disqualified due to knowing way too much about this stuff!) :)
Sounds like this kid was an immediate threat
roger that
