Diplomats from Mexico and Central America on Monday demanded guest worker programs and the legalization of undocumented migrants in the United States, while criticizing a U.S. proposal for tougher border enforcement.
Meeting in Mexico's capital, the regional officials pledged to do more to fight migrant trafficking, but indirectly condemned a U.S. bill that would make illegal entry a felony and extend border walls.
"Migrants, regardless of their migratory status, should not be treated like criminals," they said.
The countries represented at the meeting _ including Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Belize and Panama _ created a working group to design a regional policy to avoid migrant abuse and to follow the course of the legislation.

Well, we could always just adopt each of these countries policies towards ILLEGAL immigrants invading their own respective countries, couldn't we?
The putrid governments of these countries are so corrupt that they desparately need the 50 BILLION or MORE dollars that people in America illegally send back to their country of citizenship. This enables these putrid corrupt governments to keep their economy from tanking which would mean revolutionists would hang them from the street lights for revenge for the corruption.

I'd be open to more legal immigration once we are rid the illegals.
But any kid of amnesty for people who broke in is nuts.

Mexico's argument holds as much water as a person flinging his trash into his neighbor's yard, and getting mad when they put up a fence.

Agreed. We need massive deportations -- round them up and gently lower them onto the south side of the wall.

Rather than provide economic opportunity for their own citizens, the political aristocracy of these Banana Republics want to export their excess peons to the United States.

Maybe not with you or me, but it holds a lot of water with our current leadership, and with some strategists in the GOP who are looking towards future votes.

They must have forgotten that a man named Sam Houston and his crew permanently ended Mexico's supervisory role at our borders.
The pitiful part of this is that Mexico is rich in resources and should be able to support itself (and its citizens) quite nicely. The multi-layered corruption of their government has made Mexico what it is today.
It's very similar to what the liberals would like to do here.

Diplomats from Mexico and Central America on Monday demanded guest worker programs and the legalization of undocumented migrants in the United States, while criticizing a U.S. proposal for tougher border enforcement. When I first read this article , I was so dam* p*ssed off at the Mexicans and Central Americans to where the hair on the back of my neck was standing straight up. Then I looked at the real reason for my anger.
I'm p*ssed off at our elected officials in Washington from the President down for having allowed the might and prestige of our nation to have deteriorated to the point where any tin-horn El Presidente feels he has the right to dictate to us on our immigration policies and other internal affairs as if they were co-El Presidente of the USA.
Our problems aren't south of the border........they are in Washington DC!!!

Too damn bad Americans don't start demanding that our lame @ssed politicians take some action......like sealing the borders, or better yet stopping transfers of money from the US to Mexico. Perhaps if we stopped the Mex's politicans money supply, they would really have something to bitch about.
