Again, sad but true.
Leaky Leahy up. Let's remember that Leahy actually voted for Roberts.

I have to agree with that. If he had been denied the Chair, he would have been whining and moaning and I doubt he'd be set to vote for Alito now.

Leahy is a skunk.
I'm waiting for his 5 minute question.

I think maybe when birth control was still on the table they were all saying "Oh, of course this isn't a slippery slope, you're being silly, of course this doesn't mean that legalized abortion is next..."

Yes, but it was to cover his assets on this nomination.

I suspect that the dems decide which of them will vote for a particular bill or candidate so that they can brag later that it was passed w/a BI-partisan vote.

How does this donkey keep getting elected? Don't you remember back just 14 months ago? Bush Jr. wanted Sphincter exactly where he is and worked hard to ensure he ended up there.

Stupid Leahy is trying to get Alito to make a ruling on Bush! What the heck?

That's why GWB is President and we are here. He figured out how to turn Specter into a fairly reliable ally. Just looking at the results last year: we got a lot of conservative judges approved, including Roberts, Brown, Owen, etc. I don't like Specter and don't trust him, but Arlen has presided over the ongoing shifting of the judiciary to the Right.
If I was a Pennsylvania liberal, I'd be really upset with him.

His name is not Bush Jr. His name is not the same as his father's.
