NEW YORK, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Executive Vice President and Publisher Judith Curr announced today that Atria Books will publish a memoir by noted peace activist Cindy Sheehan, to be released in September 2006. Senior Editor Peter Borland acquired World English rights to Ms. Sheehan's book from literary agents David Vigliano and Elisa Petrini of Vigliano Associates.
Since her son Casey's death in Iraq on April 4, 2004, Cindy Sheehan has become internationally recognized as a leader in the peace movement. Her book will take readers behind the headlines to share the wrenching, yet profoundly inspiring story of how she put aside despair over her son's death, and took on the mission of speaking truth to power in the Congress, in front of the Pentagon and the White House, and on President George W. Bush's personal doorstep with her Camp Casey protest in Crawford Texas.
Cindy Sheehan says, "My experiences over the last year have shown me that one person can make a difference. True change has only come to our country from grass roots movements. In telling my own story in my own words, I hope that I can help inspire others to activism."
Peter Borland says, "Out of unimaginable personal grief and tragedy, Cindy Sheehan emerged as one of the most influential figures of 2005. In this book, readers everywhere will have the opportunity to get to know her beyond the sound bites, the photo-ops, and the media coverage." Publication is scheduled for September 2006.
In 2005, Atria published 18 New York Times bestsellers, including Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult, Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Aron Ralston, Driven From Within by Michael Jordan, Afterburn by Zane, Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner, and Consent To Kill by Vince Flynn. Atria has now published 72 New York Times bestsellers in its short four year history.

I'll wait till October when it is on the dollar book table at Barnes and Noble, then I'll buy a copy and since I don't believe in burning books I'll use it to wipe my ass.
Soooooo,..... is it to be published on 2, 3, or 4 ply TP?
Funny how it doesn't mention that she even met the President. That would kinda dilute her "The President refuses to meet with me!" BS.
I could have sworn she already had a book out.
First time I ever heard of them. I looked them up, and they appear to be an imprint of Simon & Shuster, with a fair number of books about reincarnation and other new wave tripe.

Simon & Schuster is yet another in a long line of liberal publishers. The incestuous relationship with liberalism and publishing runs as deep as Hollywood.
Oh, and I can't resist quoting their explanation of their origins from the web page:
"With a growing Pocket Books hardcover list and the successful publishing of such books as Jennifer Lauck's Blackbird, Jennifer Weiner's Good In Bed, and Shanghai Baby by Wei Hui, came the founding, ... "
That was a very close-minded view, m-ak. :) I'm only kidding.
Thanks for driving home the good point.
Yeah, Atria is an imprint. There are a lot of those imprints running around. I could've told you right off the bat on that one.
Of what?
They gonna print that in three ply ?
I'm thinking many thousands of other people can imagine the "unimaginable".
What a doof.
Good trees will die for THIS!I'm no tree hugger but I don't like outright waste either.
Who's Cindy Sheehan?
Is this someone I should Google? Or should I just move along because there's nothing to see here...
Better to take the money that would be spent on that garbage...and use it to help in the Freepathon...
We Freepers are the ones that can keep her from getting any more momentum than the MSM "gives" her.
LOL...that high?
