Moscow, January 9, Interfax - Russia's chief rabbi Berel Lazar has urged Jews to pray for the health of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
"Jews have a custom that if a person falls badly ill, especially if this person is between life and death, all his friends go to the synagogue and pray to God to grant full recovery to this person. Even if doctors see no hope, we still ask the Almighty to make a miracle and return the sick man to full life," a Monday message of the rabbi states.
The message says Jews in Russia have especially warm feelings for the Israeli prime minister remembering "the heartfelt attitude Mr. Sharon always demonstrated during his visits to Moscow."
"Neither do we forget his traditionally friendly attitude to the Russian state and its leadership," the message adds
Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
G-d bless and protect this Rabbi
