The prof in question (this was in a grad US History class) expounded on "the validity Michael Moore's arguments" and expressed dismay at how "misundertood the Carter administration was". The guy is one of the most delusional people who I have ever seen teach (in his case, it was indoctrination) in a classroom.
If us Seppos would have to look it up, you can probably get away with it.
