"Notes left by some of the miners suggested they may have succumbed to carbon-monoxide poisoning - and died peacefully in their sleep.

The father of sole survivor Randal McCloy, 26, told the Associated Press that though he has no evidence, he believes his son survived because the other miners shared the last of their oxygen with him. He believes they did so because McCloy was the youngest and has two small children."

These men of the rugged mountains of West Virginia are God fearing, family oriented heros - unlike Hollywoods fantasy in "Brokeback Mountain".

These men probably sacrified their oxygen to save a young family.

Hollywoods idea of of a good movie are two that sacrificed their family for a taboo romp in the hay

Something dramatic was done to save Mccoy. It appears the others all feel asleep after 11 hours or so according to the notes.

We may never know what went on but it was truly something special as Mccoy lives.

Dime to Donuts that BareA$$ed Mountain wins all kinds of awards for it's homo friendly "enlightend" storyline.

I'm with you on that. The Academy now votes its nominees and winners on how pi$$ed off it'll make conservatives and Christians. Not on whether it's a good movie or so and so is a good actor or director.

Something must have happened to cover the gap between 10 hours and 40 plus hours. And is this theory not getting the attention it deserves

I saw somewhere that they were within 2000 feet of fresh air.....that's less than 1/2 mile of walking (RUNNING, WHILE HOLDING BREATH?).....evidently they train them to stay where they are to SAVE oxygen? So sad.

Yes - and shy the delay in getting rescuers down there - why evacuate all the gasses first - are there no special breathing/rescue devices?

Okay folks, back on track now. You know, there are so many stories of true heroes that we are not getting considering Iraq, Afghanistan, firefighters, police, miners, the list goes on and on and yet the Hollyweirdos continue their twisted, perverted and goofy productions.

We will never go back to the days of decent/patriotic/uplifting entertainment, they will never stop; this is a fight to the very end--and you know what? I'm ready for that boil to be lanced.

So sad...

Yes, even termites are wiser. Termites provide varied escape for themselves in their underground tunnels. So sad that humans are so ignorant and full of avarice.

That's the impression I get. It seems like the more Hollyweird's fail at the box office with their "twisted, perverted and goofy productions" the more determined they are to make entertainment products that reflect their sick liberal values.

Of course, I don't like what the Hollyweirdos put out then I don't have to buy/watch it. And I don't. But I wonder how long it will be before the Hollyweirdos start saying that average Americans are too stupid too understand their low grossing movies and their low rated shows.

Why aren't miners (and others in hazardous jobs) given some kind of GPS locator device so that they can be found quickly in case of an emergency? I guess the mine owners don't want to pay for them?

Just wondering. Seems like a relatively cheap and readily available technology (since I can get it for my dog) that might save a lot of human lives.
