On Friday, January 6, 2006, El Rushbo said the following:
Transcribed from rushlimbaugh.com "It's Open Line Friday Clip: Does Anyone Remember Wen ho Lee?" Windows Media Player, paid subscription required
'Phil from Prescott, Arizona': "What I wanted to talk about: you were mentioning how Bill Clinton never seemed like he was interested in tackling huge national security issues, but I seen an example in the Wen ho Lee case where they actually railroaded Wen Ho Lee so they could at least LOOK like they were tackling national security issues..."
Limbaugh: You know, this is a fascinating case, and I don't think enough people A) know about it or B) remember it. Wen Ho Lee, Chinese descent, working out at Los Alamos, right? Los ALamos nuclear lab. Wen ho Lee was accused, by the Clinton administration, of stealing secrets and sending them back to China. During the whole period where the Clinton administration was involved in all this funny money coming in from China, and the 1996 presidential campaign, and the John Huang/Charlie Tree days, and all of this. There was NEVER...this man was kept in jail for, I don't know how many months, but, at one point, when they took him into federal court, a federal judge...now, he sent me his book. Wen ho Lee sent me his book, and it opens with this judge's apology. The judge, I forget his name, federal district judge, apologized to Wen ho Lee for everything the United States government had done to him: falsely accusing him, keeping him in jail; this is unprecedented. Sometimes charges are dismissed and they're thrown out, or what have you. The judge made it plain that he was apologizing on behalf of the United States government for what had happened to Wen ho Lee. And Phil's point here is, he's taking off on the opening monologue today which is, the Clinton administration, during 2000, had this CIA plan to try to leak phony information to the Iranians so that when they put their nuclear bomb together, it wouldn't work. Now, the point of this was that the Clinton administration knew in 2000 the Iranians were working on nuclear cweapons, and they didn't do anything about it. And they had this CIA plan that was so bad that it was doomed to fail, and it did. And his point is Clinton just wanted to look tough on this stuff, just wanted to look big on this, so we indict Wen ho Lee, when no evidence, keep him in jail, and, uh, you know, it was worse than what happened to Ray Donovan, he was, 'where do I go to get my reputation back?' And now he's filed a counter suit. I think the last I heard was he's filed some sort of a counter suit. But I won't forget what this judge said to him, as his book opens: apologizing profusely for the entire U.S. government for what he did. And of course, the mainstream press and all of Clinton's buddies hardly gave it scant attention, folks. This is the bunch that did the Waco invasion, Ruby Ridge, uh, one other example I'm leaving out, but, we talk about civil liberties today and how we're losing it."
If you're trying to say that since I don't waste my time detailing criticism against leftists, I'm a hypocrite for noticing and saying so when I find a mistake from the right, then, I don't know what to say to you.
I didn't "prove my point" by quoting leftist sites. I proved my point by transcribing Rush's own words. And in the course of a Google search for 'Rush and Waco' (trying to prove or disprove the guy in #29), I found more of the same which I'd transcribed.
I thought it WAS worthy, and so did others. I've also made a few new friends here, which is a plus.
And he's called Poppy, whether mocking or not, because it's easier to type than GWHB or GWHB-1 Bush-1 or Bush The First or all the other contortions.
That's ridiculous. I couldn't care less if you agree with me or not. It's just that your positions don't sing freedom to me in every case.
It was the War of Northern Aggression.
;-)
bump!
The fallacy is not in the facts of which admin was in on which date, but in which party caused these events. The party that caused these events is neither R nor D but something else. The more important thing is which party recoiled from these events and which accepted them. We find that Ds don't see the problem and Rs see a big problem. The highwater mark of the party that caused these events came in 1994.
Right. That's where I got the piece which is transcribed here.
Or there's less difference between R and D than most people think. Or, more to the point, the REAL culprit is the big, ugly, hungry beastly & behemoth FED, no matter whether R or D is in charge. The right hand hardly ever knows what the left hand is doing, and when it does, it thinks it's therefore infallible.
Somebody is using the instutitions for their own purposes. It's pretty safe to say that, isn't it? An eternal truth? But, who are they, and are they organized or do they just know each other by instinct?
I think that's safe to say, yes. I don't know the answer to the other part. The identity of mythical "they" remains a mystery.
Clearly, Federal Government departments such as the FBI are large and take on a life of their own.
That's why it becomes important to try and differentiate the behavior of various administrations and how they deal with these corrupt, big departments.
Clearly, the Clinton administration supported the jackbooted behavior of the FBI at Ruby Ridge.
They promoted the FBI guy in charge, they prosecuted Weaver and Harris and they tried to cover it all up when Kohe destroyed key after-incident report documents.
There is no evidence that the Bush administration ordered the FBI to act illegally by commanding them to shot on site. His fault was that he simply couldn't rein in the FBI. But if you remember back to August of 1992, you'd recall that Bush was trailing in the polls to Clinton and he seemed very apathetic.
I don't think it is Chartists. Reformers of some kind, though.
The OKC bombing was missing in Rush's train-of-thought. I believe OKC was training material for today's terrorists. It was weakness testing. Realize it.
Not only am I not surprised that he was there sniping, I'm not surprised he lied about it. It would interesting to find out where the various government identity protection programs have hidden him and under what name.
Well, way to focus on the use of one word and ignore the rest. If I used the word and it bothers you, just call me on it and say so. It is, however, used very commonly around here, to delineate the two Bushes. That's simply a fact. My advice is, don't assign a bunch of useless meaning to it. I'm sure he's a nice enough man, but he wasn't the greatest president. He obviously did a lot wrong and I'm offended by his administration murdering the Weaver family members. So, I called him Poppy, big deal.
Thank you. He's a cold blooded murderer AFAIC.
Poppy? No it's not.
That situation was abnormal. Agree? I am heartened that the Justice Dept. has been tracking down 'environmental' terrorists for the last 4 years. Those wimpy douche bags won't last a week in a jail.
