Well, the NEA spent quite a bit of money here in Wisconsin. How about this? They give back the governor they bought and paid for (he is up for termination reelection in '06, and we can take care of him ourselves).
NOW you may terminate the NEA.
Thanx.

"Note that some in the Islamic community are some of the biggest supporters of vouchers."
This whole voucher thing has not been thought through properly.
If the voucher pushers had thought it through, they would realize that it is a horrible boondoggle that will be paid for by the middle class, for islamist terrorist schools and inner city religious schools. The middle class will never see a dime of the money.
Inner city schools would be worse than ever.
At least in my area (I won't say much about other areas--I'm not narrow-minded enough to make blanket statements like liberals do), there is plenty of money in the private sector for it. Such I know has been the case in at least some cities, but again, I won't apply it everywhere.
SOMEBODY does pay for the vouchers no matter what. Not to mention more government intrusion in private entities. Keep private things private.
In my own opinion, there are a good amount of kids here who have cancer or other terminal illnesses--THOSE are the ones who really don't have a choice and yet they teach us so much. Maybe THEY should get a voucher from the voucherees.
BUT I shouldn't be saying much in this forum. My battles are here--e.g. helping to make sure things like the gay agenda don't come to my own town and also that it stays the family-oriented city that it is.
We have to speak up. My liberal friends think vouchers are idiotic and will just hurt the schools. Vouchers are being used by the dims to hurt the reps.
You're paying taxes either way.
Is there a national White republican movement. Probably not since that would be racist.
That is one of the aims--to hurt the schools. How are the vouchers being used by the dims to hurt the reps in your area?
Exactly my point. SOMEONE will pay for that person's personal choice no matter what.
Maybe I didn't say it right, but it was my democrat friends who are railing against vouchers and the harm they will do to the schools.
My point being that vouchers will make far more trouble for the reps than they will solve.
I knew what you were saying and again what I said applies too. But I think you make a decent point in your last sentence as well.
NBRA doesn't restrict membership by race. I'm white & I belong. Many Freepers of various races have joined to support the goals of NBRA and to help fund their grassroots campaign.
The Republican Party was founded by people who wanted to abolish slavery. The Party's first candidate was Abraham Lincoln.
Here's information about the Lincoln-Douglas Debates:
http://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/database/article_display.cfm?HHID=336
Lincoln's opponent in 1860 was Democrat Senator Stephen A. Douglas.
Excerpt:
"Douglas's strategy in the debates was to picture Lincoln as a fanatical "Black Republican" whose goal was to incite civil war, emancipate the slaves, and make blacks the social and political equals of whites."
