Will Bush Tell Mexico's Fox to Take a Hike (and not across our border)?

(AXcess News) New York - The Mexican government is initiating a far-reaching investigation. It's not an investigation into the rampant corruption within all levels of its government. And it's not an investigation into the Mexican crime gangs, drug traffickers and human smugglers. No, the target of this intense investigation -- one that's being trumpeted by the usual anti-Americans in the US news media -- is the killing of an illegal alien by a US Border Patrol agent defending himself.

A former Bush advisor, Rob Allyn, is helping Presidente Vincente Fox to use the illegal alien's death to again draw attention to what Mexicans believe is an unfair US anti-immigration policy. Fox knows that if the US gets serious about border security, he will not only have to deal with a reduction in Mexico's revenue -- money illegal workers send back to his country -- but he will actually have to deal with the tens of thousands of violent criminals who enter the US illegally everyday.

The killing of an 18-year-old illegal immigrant near the security wall on the San Diego-Mexican border comes at a time when Mexico's government continues its vocal campaign against the border security and illegal immigration bill approved by the US House of Representatives in December. Many Mexicans oppose the US measure, which would build more border fences, make illegal entry a felony and enlist military and local police to help stop undocumented migrants.

Quite simply, the Mexican government believes that its people have an inalienable right to enter and leave the United States at will. But US legal scholars can't seem to find that elusive clause in the US Constitution.

While the Mexicans oppose the US building of security walls, in the same breath they claim security walls will not curb illegal immigration. Don't you get a warm feeling all over knowing the Mexicans don't want us to waste money on a security wall that doesn't work?

The illegal alien, Guillermo Martinez, died on New Year's Eve in a Tijuana hospital, the Baja California state attorney general's office said. He died one day after he was shot by a US Border Patrol agent near a metal wall separating that city from San Diego, according to witnesses cited by Mexican officials. However, those witnesses didn't mention that Martinez was using deadly physical force against the US agent.

Raul Martinez, a spokesman for the Border Patrol said the agent had been "assaulted by an individual who threw a large size rock."

"The agent, fearing for his life at that time, fired one round at the individual, who fled back to Mexico," Martinez said Monday.

The Border Patrol spokesperson, who is not related to the dead 18-year-old, said US investigators were unsure if the victim had been struck by the bullet because he crossed back into Mexican territory.

The Mexican government over the years has become more and more brazen in their rhetoric towards the US. But nothing surpasses a recent quote by Mexico's federal Attorney General's Office. They said the probe was opened against "whomever is found to have been responsible," but they didn't name whom they suspect. They also said that Mexico generally does not try to apply its laws to events that occurred in other nations.

(Gee thanks, Mexico. I was getting worried for a moment. I thought a US federal judge hallucinated when reading the Constitution and created a Mexican right to disregard US sovereignty.)

According to the Mexican version of the shooting, Martinez was with four other people when he was shot. He was from the western city of Guadalajara but was living in Tijuana with his older brother, who apparently witnessed the shooting, said Luis Cabrera, Mexico's consul general in San Diego. Cabrera stated that "Mexican officials were collecting reports from him and other witnesses."

Mexican officials have grown increasingly vocal in their opposition to the House bill passed on December 16, which Foreign Relations Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez branded as "stupid and underhanded." Fox has called it "shameful." But Americans cheered the bill as a good beginning.

In a recent New York Times article, officials from Mexico's Human Rights Commission admitted that Mexico employs some of the same methods to protect their southern border. Some reports indicate that the Mexican border officers use far more draconian methods than their US counterparts to keep Latinos from other countries out of Mexico.

In 2004, Mexican migrants in the United States sent home more than $16 billion in remittances, according to Mexico's central bank, giving the nation its second biggest source of foreign currency after oil exports. But that's not the biggest benefit to the Mexican government and economy. The biggest benefit is their exporting of murders, rapists, robbers, burglars, child predators and other perpetrators into the US.

In Mexico, billions of dollars are saved by not having to incarcerate dangerous criminals. Local, state and the federal governments in the US, however, do spend enormous amounts of taxpayers' money on imprisoning criminal aliens.

A recent study by the Government Accounting Office revealed that in the sample of criminal aliens they examined -- 55,000 inmates -- they were responsible for over 700,000 criminal acts and over 400,000 arrests. In Los Angeles, 95% of the outstanding arrest warrants for homicide are for illegal aliens, while 65% of the overall felony warrants are for criminal aliens, according to Heather McDonald of the Manhattan Institute.

So now the Mexicans are investigating a US Border Patrol agent's use of force to prevent injury or worse to himself. This from a country that still refuses to extradite over 350 killers who escaped back into Mexico after killing US citizens, including police officers. It's time for our President George W. Bush to tell their President Vincente Fox to go take a hike -- and not across our border.

There Must be 4 things done.

the wall must be built.

it must be Protected by National Guard.

and No "amnesty" or any other type of Pardon given.

and Agressive removal and deportation of existing illegals from this country.

Any American politician who doesn't support this should be voted out of office.

and that includes any Republicans.

Says it all, this is the caliber of person advising Pres BUSH. Secure borders and many important issues will take a back seat to: graft in congress, spying on terrorists and IRaq war..I come from a time where politicos were expected to steal and be bribed (a little) but at least they understood the security of the country came first..we are being sold out to one world types who hate a strong independent USA.

It doesn't have to be fair. It is our country, not yours. And what in the hell is a former Bush advisor doing helping Fox?

Oh wait, let me guess. He thinks Americans trying to protect themselves and their country are vigilantes, too. Riiiiiight.

Funny, I just quoted the exact same sentence.

Like Bush is EVER going to tell Fox to take a hike. Sounds like a line from Scrappleface.

I have yet to hear any information on the subject of illegal immigration that is not a slap in the face.

I found this on the Lonewacko Blog Site

But, as far as the Foreign Agent bit, perhaps Navarrette might want to look at the DOJ's FAQ:

The purpose of FARA [the "Foreign Agents Registration Act"] is to insure that the American public and its law makers know the source of information (propaganda) intended to sway public opinion, policy, and laws. In 1938, the FARA was Congress' response to the large number of German propaganda agents in the pre-WWII U.S... ...An agent of a Foreign principal is any individual or organization which acts at the order, request, or under the direction or control of a foreign principal, or whose activities are directed by a foreign principal who: ... 2. acts in a public relations capacity for a foreign principal...

Obviously, Allyn would seem to be required to register as a FA, if he hasn't already.

If Allyn has not registered as a FA, it would seem like he would be in violation of this act. Whether he has registered or not, he is a scumbag who is taking money from a foreign government to represent their interest over our own!

I seem to vaguely remember an incident during the 2000 campaign having to do with a stolen video tape of GWB's debate preparations. Does anybody remember if that involved Allyn's firm? I'm not sure why Allyn's name rings a bell with me but that might be the reason.

Some excerpts from Bush's 2000 speech in Miami:

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America

Should I become president, I will look South, not as an afterthought, but as a fundamental commitment of my presidency

"There Must be 4 things done."

Let me suggest a 5th:

Illegal aliens convicted of crimes in the United States should not be incarcerated here where life in prison is much more attractive than life ever was in the criminal's home country. Incarceration of illegal aliens in our "Country Club" prisons is very expensive, so this service should be contracted out to maybe...Nigeria?

I am much less concerned about Allyn than I am the Ambassador Garza. He is married to A14, a Modelo Beer Brewing baroness; this violates a number of laws including the foreign agent law you are citing for Allyn. Yet Bush appointed him and allows him to stay, lets the MXicans do as they wish.

Just build the Duncan Hunter fence, and tell them to pound sand. It's OUR damn country, isn't it???

This is what most of our southern border looks like: there is no government-built fence at all. There is often just whatever is left over from some forgotten cattle fence, built privately to keep U.S. cattle from wandering freely into Mexico. For hundreds of miles there is not even a broken cattle fence, there is nothing at all.

For comparison, below the broken cattle fence photo is a sample of an inexpensive but highly effective double border fence system, with a plowed strip to reveal footprints. This type of system is very cheap and can be built with great speed.

Here is what some of San Diego County has: a wall made of rusty Viet Nam-era runway mats. The corrugations are even horizontal, (to make climbing easier?) The illegals in this photo were spotted by unexpected civilian volunteers, and jumped back over the border.

Here is what the border looks like where the runway mat wall exists. Mexico begins on the other side of the ineffective rusty wall, which actually helps the smugglers, by hiding their movements until the occasional USBP vehicle has driven out of sight.

This is how "the game" is played. Smugglers hide on the other side of the wall with their dope and/or their illegals, out of sight of the USBP. They wait for the highly visible white BP vehicle to drive over the distant hills. Lookouts with cell phones and walkie-talkies report on the current locations of the BP units. They know with certainty that "the coast is clear" for an hour or two, and the smugglers and illegals hop the fence and run into the scrub only 50 yards away. From there, they are out of sight, and they walk 1-2 miles to holding houses. Then they wait for nightfall, and are picked up and driven in vans to LA or San Diego.

Lastly, below is the Duncan Hunter 15' fence, which is already being built along a few "showplace" miles of San Diego, mainly near the ports of entry, where panderng politicians can conveniently show it off to gullible reporters. The House has approved building 700 miles of it, which would be a great start. As you can see, the rusty runway wall is seen at the left side, Mexico begins on the other side. In areas with the 15 foot fence, dope smugglers and illegals will have to cross the open sand ("the government road" as it is called) before starting to try to get over the 15 foot fence. It's extremely tough, and resists cutting. Attacking the fence would have to be done right out in the open, in full view of cameras. This type of fence, on the U.S. side of the government road, will give the USBP a barrier to patrol, instead of forcing them to chase illegals around 100,000 square miles of wide-open frontier land, which is a fool's errand.

Good stuff.......I'd also add.... 4) End all forms of welfare type assistance to them except for emergencies.......stop this crap of them receiving benefits for housing, food, medical, etc. and they will deport themselves...... 5) Launch the full force of various fedgov agencies to end the black market for fraudulent ID's that are being cranked out across the country for illegals to use and get benefits under multiple names. I do believe this black market to be a major factor in attracting illegals into the country.
