JERUSALEM Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, the most powerful Israeli leader in 50 years, has died. He was 77.
Sharon was declared dead by physicians at Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital before 1 p.m. Israeli time [6 a.m. EST], Middle East Newsline reported. Authorities have already been notified of the death, and a government announcement was expected to be issued over the next hour.
Or Idi Amin.
Prayers.
Which just shows that they continue to be unbelievably stupid.
Drudge is using the same source as this post.
I would not be surprised if this is true, and will be announced further shortly.
I am hoping against hope that this will not lead to immediate problems in that region. If cooler heads can prevail, perhaps this can be prevented.
Rest in peace.
Good job on catching this....no one besides Drudge and Tribune reporting at this point; looks like he died 4 hours ago. Funny that there's no more word about this yet.
If true, rest in peace,
and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Maranatha.
They aren't the only ghouls rejoicing.
Drudge has a link also......Peace be with you Mr. Sharon.
Prayers up.
Watch the world now. Remember what happens. What you see.
I won't believe it until the Jerusalem Post reports it. That's a reliable source.
These reports have been given since 6:00 PM last night from various sources.
I really don't know why but this brings tears to my eyes and makes me very sad.
cnn is reporting 3rd brain surgery is over. this was at 10:01 am est
God help Israel now!
It already did. Now it's just a question of the number of repetitions and the length of time the news dithers on the event.
Prayers sent on his behalf, and on behalf of the nation of Israel.
Curses to those who rejoice at his death.
Not up on any Israeli news sources yet...
Drudge is citing the World Tribune, which is not the most authoritative source (though not the worst, either).
