Mr. Santorum told the president that he was joining other members of Congress in their call for a panel that could "objectively and critically report" progress in Iraq

No need for this, the media is doing a fine job.

The actions of a sure loser.

It was nice knowing you, Santorum. You are going to lose badly. At the very least, you could go out gracefully, instead of abandoning your principles in such a shameful way.

If the phrase non-partisan ever had any meaning in American politics, it certainly lost it decades ago. What a stupid suggestion. What a stupid idea.

Talk about stupid. In DC "non-partisan" always translates to "Democrats running rampant over jelly-spined RINOs".

Sen. Rick Santorum OK another covert left-wing fascist anti-American has shown his true colors - YELLOW - And these idiots want me to continue to give them money. Crap put the traitors out. At least we know that the democrats for what they are and we can try and limit their destruction of the country but when those that we elected and sent to congress to protect us covertly go over to the enemy then it is time to put them out of office and let the democrats have free rein.

The idiots in the US Senate have lost my money and my vote let them wear their knee pads and kneel in front of their democrat masters.

If I believed there were such a thing as a nonpartisan panel in Washington I would support this.

However, I think it would be just a waste of taxpayer money.

The liberal media has already made up it's mind on the war and is determined to spin it to look as bad as possible. It doesn't matter who's describing what's happening there, they will still report the bad things and ignore the good.

There is already plenty of facts and figures on the war and the situation in Iraq that are publicly available.

We don't need to pay a bunch of bureaucrats to look at them because their findings will be spun as well.

Dear NRSC:

I am amazed that you would continue to ask for money by saying that you and your bunch of traitors support MY President when the bunch of yellow backs in the US Senate, whom we elected with out money and hard work, try every day to undermine the war on terror and our President, by not fighting the democrats and groveling at every opportunity.

Now I see that Rick Santorum has shown his true colors and wants a Non-Partisan committee to study the Iraq war. Is it going to be like the 9/11 Commission where the democrats loaded the members with those that were there solely to protect Clinton and the enemies of the American People? This is about the dumbest thing that I have heard lately. There are NO non-Partisan Committees in Washington. Why did we not have a non-Partisan commission investigate WW II because many of the American people (on the left who supported Hitler until he attacked Stalin) did not want to go to war and likewise the Civil War where the left wanted to declare victory and give the south to the south.

Why are the people who are committing TREASON still in the US Senate? Why are those democrats who are leaking TOP Secret intelligence information not in jail awaiting their execution? WHY DO THOSE WE ELECTED NOT SUPPORT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND INSTEAD SUPPORT THE TERRORIST TRAITORS AT THE NEW YORK TIMES?

We elected you to fight for our principles not put on kneepads and kneel in front of your democrat masters. Since you would rather have your name in the New York Times or Washington Post and be invited to the next democrat orgy, than support the American people I have stopped supporting you and your election efforts.

Give it to the democrats, at least we know that they will give the country to the terrorist and establish a left wing dictatorship. Then you can be happy that you are mentioned in the New York Times as a moderate idiot.

RESIGN: Go home and grovel in front of your democrat masters.

A desperate move. He will not gain ANY Dem/lib support, and only lose support from his side. And EVERYONE sees he's willing to sell out his principles.

Reminds me of when Mario Cuomo was trying to get a fourth term as NY governor. He had always been against the death penalty, and at least had a kind of grudging respect from his opponents for taking a principled and unpopular stance, even though it was wrong. Then he flip-flopped to a degree on it. Do you think this helped him with ANYONE? Of course not.

And of course there's the matter of cutting our troops, and our President, off at the knees.

Buh-bye Rick.

Mr. Santorum told the president that he was joining other members of Congress in their call for a panel that could "objectively and critically report" progress in Iraq to build Americans' confidence and trust in the mission.

Who knew Santorum was such a coward??

IOW, he's jumping ship with the Dems and McCain for political cover.

Certainly no one can accuse me of being a Santorum-basher--but this is just a dumb move on his part. Does he really think he's going to get ANY of the moonbat vote?
